Copper Springs Retirement Community was good. The rooms were nice with full kitchens. The staff was good. The dining area looked like a cafeteria. The facility looked clean to me.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We visited Sunrise of Gilbert and it's really nice. Because it's newer, everything is beautiful. As soon as you walk in, it's very friendly, and they're right there. Everything is really nice. Because of COVID I did not really get far into it, but everything is really good. The girls there are great. My mom is very picky about her food and she raves about it, so I was very surprised by that. They have a little bit of activities right now due to COVID, like they're walking on the grounds and doing puzzles.

Sunrise of Gilbert has been very welcoming, accommodating, helpful and try to make my mom feel at home as much as they possibly could. We're very pleased with the care they give. The staff is very caring and take a personal interest in the residents. My mom had no complaints about the food since it's usually pretty good. It's just a shame that they don't do Bingo every day since that's the only thing she's interested in but then they have to accommodate everybody. I like the library and they have things set out, so it kind of looks like a big sorority for older people. It's very nice and inviting.

Sunrise of Gilbert is beautiful. We really like it. The help is great. All the staff members are great. We're very happy with it. We went with the two-room apartment, and it has a nice living area, a separate bedroom and a separate family living room. There were smaller units as well. They usually have activities every day throughout the day. My mother does exercise classes, she goes for walks, they have bingo, and she's been on a couple excursions outside the facility. They have three meals a day and snacks throughout the day. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Sunrise of Gilbert was a great place. When we're ready, that's probably where we're going to go. They followed up and wanted my mother-in-law to come. The room sizes were decent, and the amenities were great. Everything was very clean. The staff was very friendly. It was very homey. They gave us all the information that we needed and answered all of our questions and they're very pleasant. Everything there was great.

It was very nice. Physicians come into the place, and I think they have physical therapists. The staff seemed to be very caring and liked their jobs, which helped them interact with the people better. It was absolutely spotless; however, I noticed that when they're dispensing the medicine they're asking the residents if it's the right one, and this should not be the case.

It was beautiful and new. The woman who assisted us was very informative, showed us everything, and was very helpful. They have music, arts and crafts, a little bit of yoga, they have a nice group area and a dining room. It's close to a school so they have kids who come in and visit and talk to the residents, and the residents seem to love it.

I visited this facility

Sunrise of Gilbert was very nice. The lady we talked to was very informative. She had a lot of good information to give us about transitioning from independent living into assisted living. I was impressed. Also, my niece-in-law's grandfather was there, and they liked Sunrise. We had lunch and it was very good. The service was excellent. They were lovely. It was very impressive. I would consider the location for my mother. It's just that it's a little far away from our house. It's about a 20-minute ride from our home, which is a little longer than I want it, but I'm still keeping it on my list because it was very nice and the people were very friendly. I loved that they had a dog there in the lobby. They have their own pet therapy. I liked their ideas. They give a 2-hour range or they have open dining all day long. The residents we met and talked to were wonderful. It's an older place and some of the windows were a little dirty and a little dusty. It's big, so there's a lot to take care of regarding maintenance and the cleanliness. That could use a little work.

Long-Term Care Insurance

If seniors have planned ahead and purchased a long-term care insurance policy, they can file a claim with their insurance provider to have a portion of their assisted living costs reimbursed. The cost of insurance and the share of costs covered depend on the terms of the policy and the insurance provider. In most cases, policies are only available to seniors who are in relatively good health and must be purchased before the need for long-term care exists.

Elderlife Financial Services works with seniors to help them understand their long-term care policy and provides assistance with the claims process. To learn more about this type of insurance, seniors can contact Elderlife at (888) 228-4500.
