The city of Camarillo was named after one of its most innovative residents: a ranch owner with the courage to introduce many new types of crops to the region. A few of the original eucalyptus trees planted by Adolfo Camarillo still line the Ventura freeway.
Camarillo’s central location halfway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles puts residents close to activities and attractions, while maintaining a sense of small-town charm in an area where much of the surrounding land is permanently zoned for agricultural use and therefore resistant to urban sprawl.
Like most cities in Ventura County, the crime rate is well below the national average, making assisted living in Camarillo a safe and happy retirement option.
