Carson is a young city, only incorporated into Los Angeles County in 1968, but the area has a rich and fascinating history. The bicycle racing portion of the 1984 Olympic Games was held in Carson, and the city also hosted The Great Air Meets in 1910 and 1911, which introduced America to a new invention, the airplane.
Carson is located only 16 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, where the winters are mild and the summers are cooled by a pleasant sea breeze. Residents of assisted living in Carson can enjoy an active lifestyle while feeling secure and comfortable in this city of just under 100,000 people.
