Scholl Canyon Estates is wonderful and they give my mom a great amount of care. The community itself is very good and the food is fabulous. My mom absolutely loves it. She was a big cook so food is very important to her. The only thing I dislike about the place is they change managers consistently without giving us any notice. All of a sudden you walk in and people are gone, and there are new people there. It makes it difficult for my mom because she doesn't always keep up with that and realize that there are new people and she's always looking for the old people, so it confuses her a little bit. My mom has a very nice and spacious 1-bedroom with shower facilities, and she feels comfortable there. They have all kinds of activities and she's very happy with it. She has done exercise classes and Bingo, and was quite proud that she won two games. The building is beautiful, and they change and move the flowers around on a constant basis so there's always something bright and new. They decorate for all the holidays so that's fun, and they celebrate all the residents' birthdays, which is good. You also get good value for what you pay for.

I liked Brookdale Glendale quite a bit. It would have been a smaller room than the room that my mother has now, but it was nicely appointed and had a nice bath. The staff was very pleasant. They were having an exercise class the day I visited.
