My mother-in-law is in Marymount Villa. The community is OK, but it seems that they had a lot of recent residents come in so there wasn't very much personalization. For the first couple of weeks there we were struggling with the communication, like checking in on her progress and how she's doing. Also, we were trying to figure out who the right person was to direct those questions to. But other than that, she's getting her medications, meals, and things like that. It's very secure and the staff is very friendly, so we like all of that. They also have daily activities for the residents.

My mother is at Carlton Senior Living San Leandro. The service is excellent, and the staff is very well trained. They have different kinds of activities like sewing, drawing, entertainment, and movies. They have a room with a pool table and a beautiful courtyard outside. The dining area is excellent and set up like a restaurant. You can order off the menu, plus they have food that is fixed for that particular day and items that you can order if you don't want what's on the menu. The food is really good. It's a 5-star place, so it is more expensive, but we're happy with it.

We're using Thrive Home Care. They're actually very good, and I'm satisfied with them up to this point. They are decently priced, and the person we talked to was very nice and helpful. The caregiver is very good, caring, and has high integrity. They come three times a week.
The city of San Leandro is a suburb of Oakland and San Francisco located in Alameda County with a population of about 82,472.
The city’s local climate is mild and temperate year round with an average temperature of 62 degrees, making it an ideal location for outdoor activities.
The city is popular for its quiet neighborhoods and quaint houses, making it a perfect location for San Leandro assisted living communities.
Activities and programs for seniors, their families and caregivers are available at the Marina Community Center and the Bancroft Senior Center. These are intended to enhance the lives of residents in San Leandro assisted living communities. Classes offered include those that promote fitness, arthritis and diabetes management, arts and crafts, computer basics, and safety. Regular activities include morning socials, bingo socials, movies, senior swingers and more.
San Leandro senior living residents enjoy an extensive park system with many opportunities to take strolls or watch ball games and other sports. They will also have fun attending events such as the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and Cherry Festival.
Those who enjoy the performing arts will delight in seasonal productions from the San Leandro Players. A community theater group, the Players bring to life both modern works as well as the classics during their popular outdoor Shakespeare program.
An important factor in choosing a home for elderly loved ones is the availability of quality healthcare. San Leandro is home to the Alameda County Medical Center and its partner facilities, Fairmont Hospital and John George Psychiatric Pavilion.
These medical facilities provide the necessary medical services to assist San Leandro senior living residents with various health problems to ensure that their quality of living is not hampered by illness.
Served by two Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations which are seamlessly connected to greater Alameda County by AC Transit bus routes, San Leandro Assisted Living residents are just a 20-minute train ride away from the bright lights of the big city of San Francisco and other major Bay Area destinations. In addition to fixed bus and rail options, the FLEX shuttle curb-to-curb service gives less mobile San Leandro residents, who are 60 years or older, the opportunity to make a reservation for semi-private shuttle service to pick them up and drop them off at certain locations within the city. These are usually done for medical trips within the Alameda County. San Leandro manages to maintain a peaceful atmosphere while keeping up with its burgeoning growth. Your loved ones will never be far from the services they need to stay happy and healthy. Find assisted living for your loved one on our San Leandro Assisted Living page.
