Hugh Ash Manor, supported by the community in which it is located, is dedicated to fulfilling the physical, social, spiritual and recreational needs of its residents. Completely residential in nature, Hugh Ash Manor is designed specifically for active senior citizens who live self-reliant lifestyles. Since 1971, it has been our purpose to provide residents of moderate income pleasant living accommodations in a gracious setting. Much care is given to creating an environment rich in cultural and recreational opportunities where residents can choose new friends and have fun doing things together. With our informal concept and atmosphere, Manor residents can participate in planned activities to whatever degree they wish.
Hugh Ash Manor, Inc. is a project of the First Presbyterian Church of DeLand.
Its board of Directors is appointed by the Church's Board of Directors and has provided the leadership for planning, construction, continue operation and guidance of the project. Dr. Hugh F. Ash, Pastor Emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church, served as Founding President of the FHA-HUD 236 Project, and financing is guaranteed by these agencies. Residency is open to persons of any faith, creed or race. Residents need not be professing Christians, although Christian standards will be maintained in the operation of The Manor.
