I visited this facility

I visited Titusville, that place was bad. I think it's a dump, and it might be the income level, they may not be paying they're staff enough to care. There's probably people working there that do not get a reason for income, and so they're getting people working there that aren't motivated because they're not getting paid. I think that's probably optimally what happens in those places, they're not paying their employees a good wage, so it's hard to probably retain good employees for them. I did not have a positive experience with Titusville Rehab. The place stunk really, really bad, it stunk real bad, it smelled real bad. The staff doesn't do anything unless you ask them.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I visited Crescent Wood. They were called something else back then. I visited probably within the last three years, about two and a half years ago. I went to both independent and assisted living there. The independent living, the little apartments and everything, they're nice, but they could use a little better maintenance and upkeep as far as on the outside. But in size, they're fairly nice. I mean, they're a little bit aged, a lot of people moved in and out. It's fairly OK. The assisted living part, it was a little, I guess, it was smelly to me; there was a heavy smell, though I don't know if it's in all those places or if it's just that particular place. I had an uncle that stayed there for two years. He went from independent living to assisted living, until completely rehab. The little pricey rooms or independent living if you wanna call them, they're like a little efficiency apartment, and they're pretty nice. My mother said she wouldn't mind going there because my uncle had stayed there, and it's right down the street from where my mother lives now. She used to go visit her brother there, that's why she said, "That place is kinda nice, I wouldn't mind staying there.'' They have cable TV, they have games, and people visiting. If you're independent, you could probably drive in and out all you wanted. The little apartments have a little parking lot in front of them. They do have people come in, I would say for what do you call it manicures, pedicures, hair service. They have a bus that takes them if they wanna go to the movies or shopping. We lived a way from main street, so if you wanna do anything you actually have to drive about ten, fifteen miles to get anywhere. Movies are close by, we have movies, and we have grocery stores and stuff, but if they wanna go to a shopping center and a nice one, they would have to go for a drive. They have buses there for transportation, and I think they take you if you need help for medicine, if you need a doctor's visit, they're very good in helping their population with that. I've tried the food there, sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not.

I visited Royal Oaks. It's terrible, you don't want me to explain how terrible. When I cross the board at Royal Oaks, it's dirty, it's stinks, it's unsafe, people walk, there's no security. I don't know about today with the COVID. I've not gone in there during the COVID time, but before that, I've known three or four different people, two of them family members, two of them were friends, acquaintances, and they were totally unhappy, I was unhappy, and so glad to get my family or friend out of there. I'll never go back in there again. They just kind of sit and space off, and spare off in the space there.

I visited this facility

Crescent Wood was nice, very clean, and very organized. The person who assisted me was wonderful, answered all our questions, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant. She took us around to all the different areas. It was a Saturday morning, so it was pretty quiet. They had a pool, a game room, a TV room, dining room, and a little library.
