I recommend any one who is looking for a place to put their for their parent to trying visiting this facility. The home is very clean and well kept. The staff is good at what they do. I loved my experience here.

Every night the woman in the next room would begin to scream... No one would check on her. Half the time there was no silverware with meals. If I buzzed for pain meds, it would take at least two hours before they come. Same if I had to poop (that\'s how I learned to manouver myself on to my wheelchair and into the bathroom and onto the toilet...and back to bed... with a broken leg.) They tried to keep me from my cancer doc (so they could keep me there for 6 more weeks and keep collecting medicare cash) Robin finally threatened to come down with law enforcement and a TV news crew, if they didn\'t let me see my oncologist. That\'s when they decided I was cured. When I was discharged, I discovered that I was missing approximately 80 pain pills. Yeah, it was a slice of heaven!

My mom is in the independent living side. The place is nice and clean, and the layout of her unit is also nice. Everything regarding the staff is fine. I just think they can work a little bit more on their meal plan, but other than that they're okay. The dining area is a one room in the building with seating for the seniors or the families that would like to come. They have activities for the seniors and outings like to malls. One of their amenities is a beauty salon.

It was very nice. They have a big building that handles mostly studios, and they were more designed around assisted living. The independent that we saw were 2-bedroom, 2-bath, a 2-bedroom, 1-bath, and these were all either 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom where you could park your car and they were extremely nice. We've done two tours there that were excellent. The staff who showed us around was very well-versed in the whole procedure, so there's not a complaint at all with the people who have worked with us. The dining area looked very appropriate. They provided Bingo, some physical activity, and a few other different things.

My mother went there for rehab after a heart attack. This is a horrible place. Total lack care. Staff has horrible attitudes. Everything is an effort for them. My mother is a diabetic and they were not good at giving her insulin on time. They fed her things not good for a diabetic, hotdogs, hamburgers etc. She would wait so long for someone to come help her to the bathroom that she would wet the bed and then have to lay in it for hours. She sometimes had to use the trash can to pee in. They would grab pens and notebooks out of her hands telling her she didn't need to take notes for her insulin. For therapy she was taken and put on a stationary bike for 5 mins and also walked around in the garden. In her 13 day stay she had 3 therapy visits. They gave her medications that were not prescribed to have her sleep most of the time. She was so drugged she was lethargic most of the time. They injected something into her legs one night and didn't tell her what it was. They forcibly held her down to do the injections and left marks. She tried to leave with my dad and was barefoot. The staff came out and told her she had to come back in. Her prescription for in patient therapy was for 10 days and was not renewed but they kept her 13 days before she was able to basically "escape" . Don't put your loved one here. Don't even put your worst enemy there.

I loved Great Oaks because my church goes there frequently to do concerts and they're great people. It was clean and graciously-appointed. The staff who showed me around was as sweet as she can be. The dining room looked clean and well-appointed. They take people on outings and to doctors on their bus.

It was OK, but it didn't blow us away. It was in a sketchier neighborhood and wasn't as easy to get to. It wasn't bad and the people were nice, but the initial impression wasn't as good. They have cottages and rooms, which were OK. It was an older place. The staff member who gave me the tour was very sweet and followed up. They gave us delicious homemade cookies. There was nothing really wrong with the place. It just didn't give me a great impression.

My father moved into a cottage, and it's been fine. Everybody seems very nice, and the staff is very helpful, attentive, and concerned. He says the food is good.

Great Oaks is close to where I lived so the location was very important to me. For the care that my dad needs, it's been very good so far and he's doing a lot better than I thought. I've been satisfied with the amount of care that he has gotten there. They do a lot of activities and have a lot of things going on every week. My dad doesn't like the food very much so he doesn't eat in the dining room very much. He keeps a lot of groceries and eats in his own room a lot of the time.
