My brother-in-law is at Asbury Court. We are very pleased with them. They are taking good care of him. They go in and make sure that he comes down to eat because he is a little forgetful with his Alzheimer's. People have gotten to know him. He is very sociable and there are lots of nice people there. The salesperson we dealt with was very helpful and informative. They helped us get him in there quickly so he can adjust and familiarize himself. The reason we put him there is because he wanted his independence and wanted to have his own room. We are very pleased with Asbury Court. They have their nurses right there on the premises. They have rehab center and nursing home; it is all included in one building. In the nurses office, they administer my brother-in-law's medication every day. They have even informed me that they can do refills there too, so we don't have to use an outside pharmacy, which is very nice and convenient. They provide a lot of activities. They have a movie theater, a couple of rec areas, a pool table, a large TV, and seating areas everywhere. They even have several smaller cafes and smaller rooms where they can sit and do whatever they want. They also have an outside garden, which is a plus too because my brother-in-law likes to sit outside. They have church services of different kinds, and they provide three meals a day.

We visited Asbury Court. It seemed a little bit smaller than other places, but the staff was friendly, accommodating, and the residents seemed happy. It's an older facility, and it looked older, but the room we saw has been redone, and it's very nice. We saw some people exercising, and it looked like they were having fun.

I toured Brookdale for my mom. I liked it and would want to move there myself. It was more expensive, but it offered other amenities, including a very nice pool. It was bright. They had a machine to help them with reading, guest speakers, different religious activities scheduled throughout the day, and a bus that would take them around. I really liked the amenities. They had doctors who come in; one happened to be my doctor.
