Filthy, management plays favorites, management lies to rent too you, not safe, a lot of bullying and goes unrecognized, no updates/renovations since opening but the prices rise, a lot of clicks too include with management, the people bite their tongues on truths as to not have management make up a reason to try and kick you out! It's a travesty that you cannot live in peace, especially when you bring a ton to the community and are taken for granted.

This is a horrible facility to place a loved one. The sales pitch was wonderful, but it all changed after we moved my mom in. House keeping was terrible. They say it’s done twice a week but we didn’t find that to be the case. We had to hound them to get it done. The toilet in her room rarely flushed. They rarely supplied toilet paper, tissue or paper towels. We’d have to ask for them when we visited. We were told they had a podiatrist that visited twice a month. Well, my mom’s feet looked horrible. Low and behold, no podiatrist. They said nursing would handle it but we ended up doing it ourselves because it didn’t get done. My mom developed severe edema while at Brookdale. This wasn’t their fault, but why didn’t they notice all the open sores on her legs when they showered her once a week? We had to get a wound care specialist because of their neglect. Lots of oven fried to death chicken strips are a standard meal. I never saw a meal that I’d serve in my home. Management is full of excuses but doesn’t ever seem to have an action plan to remedy a situation. They are also terrible at returning phone calls. All of this comes with a pretty high price tag. You should be able to expect excellent care, clean room, clean clothes, toilets that work, decent food, and responsive management. I will say that Stacey the receptionist is outstanding. But sadly that isn’t enough to overcome management that is lazy and complacement.

The apartments at Revel Spokane were very beautiful and very nice. They had a lot of good amenities. They had a library, cafeteria, pool, patio, craft room, and barber shop or salon. The café also had a little snack area. They also go on tours together. We were offered a meal there but we really didn't have the time. The only complaint I have was that we didn't know the cost going in and it is quite expensive. The staff told us about a certain amount for the first person, and then later disclosed that it's $500 for the second person. That blew our minds. I thought to myself: if they can't tell us the truth from the very beginning, we won't do this. Information should have been up front and it wasn't. It was one woman that gave us the initial information and another woman, who gave us the tour, was very nice, efficient, answered all our questions and told us about the additional costs.

I would describe Eden Supportive Living N. Aurora as a very nice place. They have a place where you have a lot of activities, and a lot of onsite help. I chose the place mainly because it's within my mom's age range, and for the times that we were looking, this was the best place I could place her for now. They have activities like bingo, arts and crafts, and outdoor barbecues as soon as the pandemic is uplifted. They have different games that they can play too. It's definitely an environment where she can go around and talk to different people of her age range that can share their experiences with her, as well as hers. The staff was also very nice, very attentive, and they give everything like they're supposed to.

I found Brookdale Nine Mile for my parents. It's been good other than my dad passed away after they'd been there less than a week. They've taken excellent care of my mother, they've been great, and I can't say enough good about them. They've really bent over backwards to help her through this, especially with the pandemic going on. It's a smaller facility, and the care is really good because they're not spread out. The activities are much more limited than they would be in a normal situation, so she gets bored. For the most part, it's going pretty well. She moved to a smaller room, because they have a separate wing of the facility for the newer, incoming residents so they can be quarantined. Once she moved to the other room she was able to walk in the hallway while wearing a mask and keeping her distance. They have a crafts room and a library.

Bickford of Aurora was very nice and brand new. It's a beautiful facility, but my parents need more care. They adjust their prices according to the care, but it would've been very expensive for the level of care that my parents would need. The staff was very good, very friendly and gave us a lot of good information. There were people out in the common area playing games. The rooms were nice, but a little on the smaller side. It's a brand new place, so everything was very nice, in good shape, and clean.

It was really nice and very attractive. It had everything that we needed, except that we needed a two-bedroom and they didn't have one available at the time. The place was clean, their menus looked good as far as the food, and the people were friendly. It was just a really nice place, but it did not match what my folks needed. Another thing that was good about it was that it was convenient because it was really close to a hospital (only about a block and a half away), so that's nice. I felt like the staff member's answers to my questions were sincere; they weren't trying to sell the place and they were just being honest. The building itself was clean. It looked brand new, it was nice, and it had a good view of the river where the people could sit outside. There was also a walking path.

I was very impressed with Bickford of St. Charles. It was clean, the residents seemed happy, and the people I had to deal with in placing my dad made it very easy, and they work with you. They have daily exercise groups, painting classes, and tons of activities for them to do.
