I was very impressed with Lake Barrington. The lady who provided the tour was very helpful, followed up, and very thorough. It's a very friendly place and my mom would fit in there quite well. They have a warm welcoming committee. Everything was clean. I like the size of the rooms. She showed us the apartment types for independent and assisted living. They have the floating license that she could start out as independent and if assisted living is necessary, she could stay. They also said that they don't put you in a specific level. If you need services or assisted living, they do it a la carte. It's homey and she would be comfortable there. They showed me the menu, and I want to eat there every day.

Lake Barrington was nice but wasn’t what we wanted. It was a little overpriced for the amenities. It was an older place, and we didn’t care much for the staff. It was not as homey as we would have liked. The tour was good and very informative. They served lunch and dinner and had a lot of activities, but they did not have a lot of outings. The doctor comes to the facility, and they take them out once a week for shopping.
