I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We took her to The Auberge at Naperville. The outside looks good. You can't see much of the inside because of COVID-19. I mean, my general impression is favorable at this point. The staff seems very receptive and nice. My sister has Alzheimer's, so we just drove up there, called the staff, and they came out to the car and took her away like it was nothing. I am happy with it. They are having a little trouble just getting her to eat, but we were having that same issue before we transferred her. She just recently just suddenly sulked and her appetite decreased. It's not anything on their part, but part of it is that she's in a strange environment with strange people every day. She just needs to get used to that. They told me they have activities, but first they got to do an evaluation with some different kind of occupational and other types of therapy, and then they'll proceed from there.

This community is fantastic! My father absolutely loves it here. The staff are very helpful, and they have kept all of their residents safe through COVID-19. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, look no further!!!

Independence Village has been wonderful with my 85 year old mother. They help her when she needs help, and are providing a very safe, secure environment during the COVID crisis. This is a difficult time for the elderly and I am very thankful they are providing so much for her!! Thank you Patricia and the rest of the staff!! You truly are appreciated.

My Father was here for over 3 years, and he just loved. Very affordable and the staff was OUTSTANDING! When Covid-19 hit nursing homes, this place locked down instantly and had zero cases.

My father is in a great place. He is at HarborChase of Naperville. It has been excellent. It is brand new and very well run. It is a happy place; my father is delighted there. They have a meal plan; you can go down to the cafeteria and eat there. The food is excellent and very nutritious; it is good. The staff is great. There's no open flame in his room. He has a lovely little kitchen. He also has a living room area, a balcony, a bedroom, and a beautiful big bathroom. They have a bus that takes them to places. I know he goes out for lunch every Friday and goes shopping every Wednesday. They have loads of activities, but he isn't interested in them. Overall, the place is beautiful, and the people seem happy.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The staff at Sunrise of Naperville have been great. They have been very patient, very attentive, very friendly, and helpful. That's one of the reasons I chose it for my father. Everybody seems to be concerned about his welfare, and they're taking care of him the best that they can. However, my father occasionally complains about the food. I have had to talk with him about the fact that he can ask for almost anything he wants; I don't think he is always aware of that. Personally, I have gluten intolerance, and when I tried to eat there with my father, I had quite a bit of trouble eating the meals because the menu doesn't offer very much that is gluten-free. So I asked for tuna salad sandwich without the bread, and they did a nice job of putting it on lettuce and offering what they could. The atmosphere is great. My father had a little bit of trouble initially with his room. The lock on his door would not lock at some point, and it broke over the Memorial Day weekend. It took about a week for that to get fixed. It just upset my father. There were a couple of things where he has had some issues with the place, but they have addressed it in as timely a manner as possible. They have a good variety of activities, although it is somewhat difficult to judge because I don't think my father participates in that many activities. They have a gentleman who comes in and plays the accordion once a month and sings with them. I enjoy that.

I visited this facility

We visited the Independence Village of Naperville, and I was impressed with everything that they offered. They have different floor plans, meals options, and activities. They laid out all the activities, and I was able to look at the seniors who took part in them; it was definitely a good thing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I visited this facility

I was quite impressed with the courtesy and thoroughness of my tour at Independence Village of Naperville. I was able to see an apartment there and it was quite nice. It was being renovated and the floors that they were putting down were wooden instead of carpeted, which I really thought would be great. The one room I saw was not furnished and it had everything that I was looking for, which includes a kitchen. They had lots of activities, but it was older, and it did not have parking facilities. The guide was perhaps the friendliest and most helpful person that I have met.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm living at Sunrise of Naperville North. It's a very nice place, but it's very expensive. I have the smallest room here, but I'm happy with my bedroom, living room, and TV. The only thing I'm unhappy about is they're charging me $25 a month for cable TV. It costs me about $5,500 a month to live here. They have a lot of exercising, card games, dice games, Bingo, and once or twice a month we go to eat at other restaurants.
