I took a tour for my sister at Bickford of Rockford and it was very good. I liked all the people that were there and I met some of the coordinators of different activities. The place was very clean. The apartment seemed very nice and comfortable. I did like it. They had a church and a lot of different activities. They have outings that they go to. They have exercises and I think they have a swimming pool in the basement. They have quite a few different activities. They have different things that would keep them busy all day long. I did see them having their lunch when I went, so I met some of the people at the tables. It looked like it would be a good lunch, but I didn't have any. The structure was very well kept.

We liked Cherryvale Place overall, although there were some struggles to get everything coordinated in the beginning. It's a beautiful place. The CNAs are very nice and caring, but you need someone watching to make sure things are happening. My mother said the residents are not super friendly and they don't want to make friends. She has enjoyed the food for the most part. They have a lot of salads, and they always have options. They go on outings to the restaurants, to the library, they tour the city, and go shopping. There's always bingo, games, exercises, and singing. It's very clean.

Bickford of Rockford was very nice. Their room was the biggest we saw out of any of the facilities we visited. It was laid out really nicely. It would be perfect for my parents. They had a movie and some activities upstairs when I was there. There's plenty to do. The staff was very experienced and there for quite a while. It's a nice environment and the employees seemed happy.

Bickford of Rockford was very dark. The entrance itself was not very inviting. However, the lady who did the tour was extremely nice. She was a lovely person, and she did a very nice job. I found the whole residence to be very dated. It was clean but not tidy. The dining room was on the inside of the building and it didn't have any windows. I didn't like that. The one-bedroom apartment was quite small, dated, and not very inviting. The staff also showed me a two-bedroom apartment. Basically, the footprint was very nice. It would work very well for us; however, it was not clean and was very cluttered.

We love Independence Village of Rockford. It was clean and very inviting. We really liked it. The staff members were very friendly and very informative. The food was very good. It wasn't like cafeteria food. You could tell they made it then and there. They have cards and games going on. They had some special guests there. It was Christmas time, and they were singing Christmas carols together. They had people playing pool. They had plenty going on.

Independence Village of Rockford was a great place. We thought it was very nice. We were going to move my mother there but it never came to fruition. First of all, it was affordable. The people that gave us the tour and that run the place itself, they were very nice and helpful. It seemed like a good place to be. They showed us around, they talked about the weekly cleaning service with linens and towels, and they have an on-call doctor available. They have lots of activities for people to do. It seemed more like a home than an apartment building or an institution. It seemed friendlier.

Cherryvale Place is very nice, and we liked it very much, but it just didn't work out. What I was impressed with was the staff more than anything, and that was what we were looking for. The place was very clean, light and bright, with lots of windows and wide enough hallways for wheelchairs. It just seemed like a pleasant community. There were some grounds and some sidewalks to the backyard, and things for someone in a wheelchair. There were no stairs to get in and out of the home, there's a second floor, but there's an elevator. The ease of getting around is important to me and they have a good facility for that. They have a bus and they take people to different places around town, and I know they have an activity director. There was a calendar of events posted as well. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The place itself looked clean and modern, it's only a few years old. I liked the layout. They have a nice library, a big dining room, and a smaller dining room for when you want to have a family dinner. The sample room was very nice.

We went to Independence Village of Rockford, and it was very clean, and very nice. We went to look at studios, and a regular one, and they were very clean, well-kept, and very nice. However, the parking there was horrible, and it was difficult to park in handicapped parking. The staff was very accommodating, very nice, very helpful, and very informative.
