My mom has dementia and lived at Birdee Cottage for 8 months. She was in bed most of the time, frequently appeared to be "tired". They checked on her through a camera in her room and didn't seem to have a schedule of checking in person. I would find soiled depends on the floor, feces on her bed, floor and in the bathroom sink from her trying to clean herself up. She often had messy pants when I visited. When we asked the director what the care plan for her incontinence was, her response was "we aren't going to follow your mom around 24/7" which was not what I expected. My mom lost 40lbs while she lived there and weighed 108lbs when we moved her to another facility last year. Once we moved my mom, within a couple days she started eating again and gained 20lbs in less than 3 months, she started recognizing us on a regular basis, she could carry on a conversation, she was up and participating in activities. Within a few months of moving out of Birdee Cottage she was released from Hospice.

If all you want is a roof over your head and food prepared for you, go for it. If your personality may not fit a square peg hole or if you or a loved one start to need additional care or even think you might use Cedar Stone as a transition facility I beg you to look elsewhere. We have been lied to multiple times by multiple people in the facility. The care has been lacking, and at times borderline negligent. We have had promises made only for them to be broken. With all the facilities in the Cedar Valley to choose from, I recommend you choose something else.

My mother recently moved into the CedarStone senior living community. It is an absolutely beautiful living environment that rivals any of the best senior living establishments in the area. And it is ALL NEW construction which is just coming online. The staff is professional, attentive, helpful, prompt, and unfailingly kind. Everyone of the staff seems to know my mother’s name. They are genuinely friendly and interested in helping her in every way. And the food is wonderful! CedarStone has many extended services that can be accessed as necessary. I encourage anyone who has a relative In need of assisted-living or who is interested in a senior community to tour CedarStone. You will feel both welcome and impressed.

We decided on Mallard Point for dad, and we just signed the lease yesterday. He'll probably move in next month. We chose it for location mainly to where we live, the location is very much where everything he likes, grocery stores, being just wherever he shops. The rooms were spacious enough for my dad, the staff was very pleasant, but did not have everything that you could have had because of COVID, but it seemed good. There are three meals included, activities that they do amongst the residents, and activities put on by the staff as well, but it's limited right now because of COVID.

Mallard Point was very nice, very clean, they were very nice to us, and we had a very good lunch there. The person during the tour was very good. There are lots of activities.
