Nestled in the heartland of Iowa in the peaceful, rural town of Bondurant, Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing is less than 14 miles from downtown Des Moines and offers residents the perfect balance of small-town living and big-city amenities. Our community provides quality and dignified personal care to Iowa seniors in need of assisted living and memory care services.
Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing is managed by Senior Housing Management, a professional real estate management firm based in Cedar Rapids. Every individual at a Senior Housing community enjoys the appreciation and value of our signature Red Carpet Treatment.
Featured Amenities
Our 40-apartment community offers a diverse selection of one- and two-bedroom homes in seven unique floor plans. Homes feature private bathrooms, a full kitchen or kitchenette, in-suite climate control, basic cable TV and wireless internet service. We also equip our apartments with emergency call systems for additional security.
Designed with the unique needs of seniors in mind, our community is built on one level with no stairs or elevators for easy accessibility. We boast several large common areas including a big-screen TV lounge, activity area and outdoor courtyard. Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing is a pet-friendly community and we welcome small dogs and cats to our home.
Available Services
For the comfort and convenience of our residents, our staff take care of the cooking, cleaning, driving, maintenance and laundry. Meals are served three times a day in our restaurant-style dining room, while our snack kitchen is open 24 hours a day. We also have a beauty salon right on site so residents can stay looking their best without ever leaving home.
Our staff are available 24 hours a day to provide care and assistance with escorting, reminders, handling medications, bathing, grooming and other activities of daily living. Two Registered Nurses oversee personalized care plans and monthly vital sign checks, and are on-call at all times in case of emergency.

Everyone at Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing was very nice. It was a little bit later in the day, but they still were very helpful. It was a good visit. It was clean and it seemed to be a good environment. The rooms were good. Every week, they can get their nails done, they have hair care, they have different activities, in the morning they can have coffee, and they can hang out all day with each other in the dining area. They have three meals and snacks throughout the day. They have their own chef and their family can stay overnight there. The staff was excellent.

The staff at Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing has been great, welcoming and caring. I have no complaints about them at all. The number of activities is fair, they would go up and encourage my relatives to participate. Their room is fine, but I was a little disappointed because they told me that when the other person vacates they would put new carpeting in, because it smelled a little bit- but they did not. They serve three meals a day and the food is very good, we are very pleased with it. The cost is just fine.
