My mother moved into Stratford Commons. I didn't like that I couldn't go in and tour the place, but that's because of COVID. I liked the fact that they took me on a virtual tour and the gentleman that did it was very good at his job. He pointed out a lot of positive things about Stratford, including the fact that they have no deficiencies in a certain month, just recently like November or something like that, and I thought that was something good to know. They also told me that they have special Alzheimer's training. His whole presentation impressed me. We looked at a lot of other places in the same way and I went with my gut feeling, which was "that's a great place." My mom has an Alexa device in her room, so we communicated that way, and then we had to take her for a doctor's visit last week, so we got to be with her for a little bit. She has dementia, so that has its challenges. She's doing OK. So far, I feel comfortable with it. They've called me about a couple of issues, and I've been able to call the director of nursing about a couple of issues, and we've communicated well. I'm feeling good about it. I wish I could get in there and be with her, but I can't. I understand that they're making a structure to allow residents to visit with their relatives. They're building a special room that will have some kind of a divider in it. I'm anxious for that to get finished so we can go inside. They allow window visits, but it's a little chilly for that now. They're doing construction work, so they're a little torn up, but it's gonna be great when it's done. It's expensive, but they all are expensive. They have a hair salon, but we've not used it. I've only been in the main lobby.

Stratford Commons is superb and I would recommend them. They go out of their way and they treat my dad like an individual and not like a piece of garbage. They are very good. My dad is in a 1-bedroom apartment that's like a studio. He really enjoys the place and he's making friends. They have people coming in to run sing songs and to perform, and also people coming in with small animals. They do Bingo, puzzles, and work on memory stuff. The food is right up my dad's alley and it's really good. They have constant snacks throughout the day in addition to three meals a day. The staff is very helpful, they look out for everybody, and they're extremely friendly. You do not smell anything foul when you walk in since it's very clean. The beauty of the facility is that it's on one floor. It's circular, so residents don't get lost and will eventually find their apartment. My father says the food is really good.
