My sister lives in Sunrise at Siegen. The appearance is really good. However, they're having a whole lot of trouble right now maintaining their staff because they have a few staff members who have the virus. It seems like they have lost some of their better people because they're getting paid more at other facilities. Before the lockdown the activities were very good. They're very good activities with concerts and speakers. My sister was able to go to some of those. The food has been a positive thing. Overall, the place is really good.

Williamsburg Senior Living Community was more updated and had a lot more going on, but it was above our price point. I met a lot of the staff. I was very impressed with them. They had a book club, movies, and a tremendous amount of activities because they are more geared to independent living. They also had a total assisted living wing, a reading room, and a private dining room. It is almost like a mall setting. It is beautiful and very unique. They have a lot more to offer and you get more for what you pay for. They don't offer an evening meal but offer evening snacks. The rooms are well kept and well maintained.

Whealdon Estates was very favorable. The food was good. The negative for me was lack of parking. It is not an issue if one is not driving, but I have a car, and the lack of parking was an issue. The community was very favorable though. At lunch I ate with some of the residents and I thought that was very nice. The person who helped me was very good; however, the place was a little bit older.

Williamsburg was very nice, but they did not have in their package some of the things that we needed for my mother-in-law. It would've been our first choice. The only reason we wouldn't have chosen that one had to do with her accommodations, specifically what would accommodate her best and the stage of life she was in. They had a lot of activities. I toured it a couple of times and once they were doing a cooking class. The ladies attending the class were very attentive and the lady who was teaching would engage the ladies in conversation. She was also funny. I found it to be a really fun place. Some ladies were out and doing puzzles. They also were going to have a tailgating party for the seniors where they watch the LSU game and have jambalaya and a big cookout.
