The apartments at Sunrise of Severna Park were very nice, and everything is modernly equipped. The staff was very pleasant and the grounds were really nice. They're located right across the street from a community center, right next door to a public library, and within walking distance from restaurants. The rooms I saw had brand-new appliances, granite countertops, and it was very clean. They have various sizes to choose from and I felt that their 1-bedroom is a big room for a 1-bedroom apartment. The environment is very peaceful and calm. I thought their pricing was expensive, but I wasn't surprised because Severna Park is a very expensive area.

We were less enamored with Brightview Severna Park than other facilities. The attitude of the staff was kind of condescending and negative. We looked at their independent living and saw both a studio and a 1-bedroom. The studio was small, but the 1-bedroom was adequate.

We checked out Sunrise of Severna Park. The place was wonderful. I see no negatives at all about it. It's just the cost was way out of my father-in-law's price range. The staff was very nice and very friendly. The dining area looked very nice. They had a food bar and all kinds of things set up in their cafeteria. We got a list of things they do and from what I could tell, they do a lot of activities. They take people out to places on their buses. They offer transportation. The location was very good, and it's very easy to get to. The food looked good, smelled good, and looked healthy. It's a very clean place.
Severna Park is located in Anne Arundel County in Maryland, and is considered a part of the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. It is only 17 miles south of Baltimore and 39 miles east of Washington DC, making it optimally placed for fun day trips into the nearby cities. Thus, it’s a positive location for seniors that want to experience the hustle and bustle of Baltimore while learning about our country’s history in Washington D.C. As of the 2010 census, Severna Park’s population was 37,634. Severna Park is home to several parks, including Cypress Creek Park, Lake Waterford Park, and Kinder Farm Park . Kinder Farm Park offers locations for picnics, paved walking trails, and opportunities for activities such as fishing and bird watching.
Severna Park does not have its own senior center, instead sharing one with the nearby town of Arnold. The Arnold Senior Center provides services such as transportation to the center, and a place for seniors to gather and socialize. They serve lunch Monday through Friday, and often organize bus trips throughout the year. In addition to this, Anne Arundel County’s Department of Aging and Disabilities also provides services such as ombudsmen, health insurance counseling, legal and financial counseling, nutrition programs, voting transportation, and telephone reassurance.
