I visited this facility

Dodge Park Rest Home's rooms looked OK and were a good size. They have games and an exercise room. It was pretty standard. The staff was knowledgeable and they assist with medication.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We're very pleased. We live in New Hampshire and my mom was here in New Hampshire with us. She had taken a number of falls and ended up needing more care than we could do at home. We checked some nursing homes in the area that were literally 5 - 10 minutes from my home and we also had a friend whose parents went to Dodge Park. So we went and talked to them and we decided that even though it's an hour and twenty minutes from us, it was the place for my mom to go. They're EXTREMELY good. The aides are incredible. They are on top of the people. They really seem to care. I never see any of them get angry or frustrated and I've been there when everybody's doing different things. Then I can't see how they don't get irritated or frustrated, but they don't. In addition, the food is good. I mean they have a variety. They watch everybody's diet and they have a way of keeping track with the little cards on the table. The activities are good too. They keep them busy. Mom is not sitting in her room all day or she's not sitting in the wheel chair in the hallway like some places we checked out. She may go in the activity room which is the dining room to do the activity and she may not participate but at least she's out there being stimulated by the people around her. Mom is happy there. She thinks it's her home. We're in the older building, not the new place. We chose not to move to the new place because the older building is homey and it got character. I'm very happy too. They call you as soon as something happens. Even if it's a little bruise on mom's arm just to let you know it's there or that they think she might need something for UTI because her attitude has changed somewhat. So they're on top of it that way. I don't see them often because the hour that I can get out is only at night. But I know that Micah is there pretty much every day checking everything out. He rules with stern rules and regulations on how to do things and it shows because the people there are very nice. The only drawback to me is that it's an hour and 20 minutes away. Since she's been there we haven't worried about her. I can sleep at night. I'd recommend them highly and I've actually recommended them to a friend who actually had her aunt and uncle go there because word of mouth is the best advertisement. Sometimes there are some issues, we address it with them and they react to it. No place is perfect but they're really close.

One of the reasons we decided on Dodge Park is its very good reputation. It's also convenient to my work. The environment, food and care are very good. The staff and the owner of Dodge Park actually eat all their meals with the residents. They always have more staff. They have different things for their residents. My mom is not participating in many activities at this point. She's 97. But when she first went there, she was very active.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My grandmother is a current resident at Oasis at Dodge Park. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and it's state of the art. The staff is incredibly kind, compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, responsible and respectful. They couldn't be any better. It's the same thing with the management; they're attentive, responsive and accessible. I can't say enough good things about them. The activities are fantastic. They have live performance, music regularly, exercise classes, manicures and social events. The calendar has so much variety and availability of services. It's really nice to see them have a mix of services available to the residents. I've actually not eaten there but I think they have a good variety. I've been there at meal time; they're incredibly attentive and accommodating. My grandmother's room is beautiful, bright, airy and spacious. It's fantastic. I will give them 5 stars for everything.

I would call Dodge Park very family oriented. Everybody works there talks to the residents by name. They're very calming and soothing when they work with them or work for them. The kitchen help addresses my wife by her first name. They will assist her in anything she needs at the table. She's not really verbal and they know that. The two owners wouldn't hesitate to go to the table and help somebody, and that's comforting. I sit there probably 4 to 5 hours a day and I observe them in the operation. I got to say, it's classy as it was written in the Worcester papers. I have seen a lot and I approve that we picked Oasis because of what it was. We got familiar with it because my wife went to the Day Club across the street. I would think it really lives up to what it was announced and in all cases its state of the art Alzheimer's treatment. The occupation during the day is activities, activities, activities! They just don't leave them in the room by themselves. They get them out and they get them active, that means a lot. They have the salon when they want to go, a hot tub and outside people that will come in and act in clothes as physical therapy or occupational therapy. They will come in and assist what is needed. Then they have entertainment on weekends which is very good music wise. Even the most feeble ones move to music and it's nice that they bring these people in to provide that. It's a good thing that activities vary all day long. All in all, I would say you would not know that it is assisted living or Alzheimer's facility. It's very bright and very open as you can do a lot of walking inside the building and with a good weather you can do a lot of walking secured outside the building. I will give them 5 stars, and this is a daily observation since January. I'm very happy to say that I'm happy with the place. And I am not connected to the owners at all, I am just a client just like anybody else. work for them. The kitchen help address my wife by her first name.
