The rooms are okay, and the food is decent. The care is questionable. There is a high staff turnover, and the communication is lacking.

Genesee Gardens was fine. They serve you lunch or dinner as you sit down like in a restaurant. It's not cafeteria style, and they have a chef. They have a separate room for private family get-togethers and special occasions. They had a library, exercise room, computers, and activities. I liked it, and I'm considering it. I liked the rooms. They showed me the studio and the single room apartment. The staff during the tour was very good. I talked to several of the residents, and they seemed nice.

Genesee Gardens seemed very bright, friendly and clean. There's a library, a fitness room, and a huge calendar of all different kinds of activities. The lady who conducted the tour and gave us the information was superb. She was very helpful, answered all of our questions, very friendly, and accommodating.

Rosehaven Manor was in the middle of making several improvements and upgrades. They had a fitness area, a library, and a calendar of activities. It's strictly independent living. They lease space to a homecare company, but they don't require you to take it. They had a cafeteria and a meal plan, but you're not required to do that. All of their apartments had appliances included. Each person is expected to be independent, but they have a program where they check on you. You put a tag on your door and someone comes by, you answer the door, and then they flip your tag.

Genesee Gardens' staff and residents were friendly and relaxed. The grounds were clean with bushes trimmed. The location was good for my mother mainly because it's close to where she already lives. They had a game room where people cards nightly, a library with books and puzzles, and a bistro area where they hang out and socialize. We intend to move in there April or May. We had lunch there which was very impressive and had good flavor. The dining experience was like going to a classy restaurant instead of going to a diner. The studio apartment was large and furnished. We also saw a furnished one-bedroom, which was very nice and roomy.

Genesee Gardens was nice, we liked it, but it was a long way away and I didn't want to drive there every day. It was clean, and the staff was nice. The dining area was fine, they had little tables, and a breakfast buffet. It was nice. The room was adequate for one person.

My brother and sister-in-law have moved into Rosehaven Manor. My brother and sister-in-law have a two-bedroom apartment. It's very attractive and very nice. The grounds are beautiful. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. There are all kinds of activities; however, you can live there and not participate in anything if you want.

My brother-in-law has been at Landings of Genesee Valley for a year and a half now. I like the ambiance. It's not old, and it's painted in light colors, so it's not dark. They serve three meals a day.

Genesee Gardens was nice. The staff was very helpful, very present, and communicated well with the residents. It was more like being in an assisted situation, but with a lot more freedom. They've got indoor and outdoor entrances to the apartments, which I thought was nice, so you can park outside of your room or apartment. I looked at both the studio and the one-bedroom. They had a lot of activities, services to take people places, and group trips, so there's a lot going on.
