Somerset Oaks

One half of the Twin Cities of Minnesota, Minneapolis, is home of Somerset Oaks independent living community. It's just a short distance away from Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun, which gives seniors access to outdoor exercise and sports, such as fishing. Somerset Oaks does not offer on-site medical care, although it does have apartments with wheelchair accessibility. The staff in this community help with assisted lifts, with a set weight limit. An on-site property manager and 24-hour maintenance services are available for resident needs. Seniors may choose accommodations from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom townhomes, and pets are allowed inside each residence. Kitchens are fully appointed with granite countertops and newer appliances, allowing residents to prepare meals for themselves.

Transportation is not provided, however, this community is within walking distance of public transportation and private parking is available for those who drive. The building is secured, which may be appealing to seniors and their families.
