An independent living community located in Ocean City, known as “Americas Greatest Family Resort.” United Methodist Communities at The Shores is an elegant and luxurious community but provides a sincere and compassionate services to seniors who are active and independent but may still need little assistance.

Our community offers one bedroom and two bedroom apartments that comes with kitchenette and bathroom that are spacious and senior friendly. All rooms are luxurious but gives a warm and home like environment. Very comfortable and you’ll be at ease living here.
We have several living room that are spacious well lighted from the wide windows that allows natural light pass. Exquisite dining area where residents gather to eat together and share own stories and experiences.

Here at United Methodist Communities at The Shores we greatly value the independence of our residents and their dignity. We provide our residents the right amount of assistance they need. We provide housekeeping and laundry services to our residents.
We keep track of our residents health by monitoring it and providing medication management if needed. Assistance in daily activities is also provided if the needs of our residents change. Our staff are on site 24/7 to assure that we are there whenever the residents need us.

United Methodist Communities at The Shores was much better. It was bigger, seemed more organized, had more equipment, and more facilities. It had a nice parking lot and you can bring your car there if you want. It's a multi-story building and they have an open dining room that's cafeteria style with food served 24 hours a day. They have a small and fairly well equipped gym. They seem to have activities going on and the staff members were courteous. The people were happy. The place was clean and well-kept. The rooms were mostly small apartments and are better laid out in terms of visuals.

United Methodist Communities at The Shores was expensive. We visited on a Saturday, and there wasn't much staff around. The person during the tour was pleasant enough. The place was clean. It's a very large facility and the residents were just sitting in the halls or certain places with no one communicating with them. The dining area was large. I wasn't really pleased. Nobody's doing anything.
