I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My aunt is here and from what I've seen, it's fantastic. I'd like to have a room there. The staff during the tour was very nice, and even after, I can't believe how nice everybody is. They answered all my questions and even contacted me on the weekends to see how everything was going. They're very caring from what I've seen so far. Her studio is cute, and she actually slept better on her first night there. She woke up only twice at night but went right back to sleep. When she was in her place by herself in Queens, when she woke up in the middle of the night, she stayed up all night. For the first night, that's pretty good, so she must've been comfortable and felt safe and secure. Right now, the activities are limited because of Covid, but they're gonna be starting to have little groups like games, and they're starting up with Pokeno and bingo. Because of Covid, they have a few restrictions, but I've seen residents walking down the hall or roaming down the hall. They have a courtyard, which is nice, and they have a big room where they do crafts, a separate room for activities, and on her hall, there is a kitchen area if they want to cook something. There's a full-size refrigerator, oven, stove, a microwave and a dishwasher and a sink, and it looks like a kitchenette, so they could feel more that they could do stuff on their own. I really have nothing to complain about now. I've been amazed at everything. The staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to help you out. My aunt said she's content with the food. It's like a hotel when you go in, and the halls are carpeted. There's no smell, it doesn't stink like a nursing home, and the carpets are clean. Everything's clean. It's like a hotel room that you get to decorate yourself. The price is very reasonable. They're not having the dining room because of Covid. I did a live virtual tour, and the first time I saw the place was when my aunt moved in, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to expect other than what I saw there, but actually being there was a lot nicer than the walkthrough.

We like Manor at Woodside a lot. The staff is very polite and helpful. They provide meals. My father-in-law is happy there. He was hesitant to try a different place and leave his home, but he actually keeps saying that he likes it. His apartment is very nice and clean, and it's got enough room. He's got a two-bedroom apartment, and it's just perfect for what he needs. He likes the food. They have nice activities, but he hasn't really tried it yet. They have a nice outside courtyard, a nice room where people can gather, and their dining room is very nice. It's just overall a nice living community for him. He's very new, so he hasn't really experienced a lot yet. The people are very friendly. Everything so far is good.

My mother is here. I like its proximity to all of her doctors and family. It's five minutes from everybody, and it's five minutes from her dialysis and her doctors' office. It's clean, and the handicap accessibility was one of the motivating factors. She gets three meals a day, she has a clean room, and she has access to the whole facility. There would be more going on if we weren't dealing with this pandemic. It's a little limited at this time, but that's understandable.

I visited this facility

The Avalon was nice inside, and my father liked it. They had shared and private rooms. They basically stay on one floor, which I liked. They don't have to go on the stairs or elevators. They had a dining room, areas for crafts and a living room where they can watch TV. The staff during the tour was very nice. It seemed clean. It's not a new place, but we saw no real visible issues.
