My husband has a one-on-one sitter in Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and it is OK. I would rather have him closer, but nobody in the Binghamton area, no place, will take in or take a patient out of the hospital here, which he was in originally. He was put up there because everything was closed because of COVID last spring. They call me every time he falls and I talk to the social worker at least once a week. We were called up at the end of August to go up because he was imminent as far as dying, and they let us go up for two months. They said he was doing a bit better because he was put in palliative care, and then we couldn't go see him because he was doing better, but the prognosis was the same. And now we can't go see him because of COVID, so we are FaceTiming with him on Tuesdays for a half hour, which he doesn't really respond to. He doesn't talk and he doesn't look up. His room is fairly clean and they've come in when I was were there to sweep the floor and different things, but they're there and very essential. You call and they answer the phone. It's a home-like environment. They let us come up because he was dying. He's got dementia and he's not gonna get any better, he's getting worse. We've already filed a complaint with our state health. My son did not like the way he was being treated. I don't know, they don't really care about the patient to be honest. They do their job and that's it.
