Brompton Heights Located in Williamsville

My mother has been in Brompton Heights for a month now. It's beautiful there. They have a lot of activities to keep the people busy. She is in enhanced assisted living, so she's not able to transfer herself out of bed or out of the chair to go to the toilet, and needs hands-on care; it's not very good. A lot of times, you wait an hour and a half, and nobody shows up. I'm not happy. They're short on help. She has a very nice room, which has a bedroom and a bathroom. In the evening time, it's hard to find anybody to help her. If she's able to ring the buzzer, they're supposed to come and take her to the bathroom, but they don't. We end up taking care of her. If it was just regular assisted living where she could take care of herself, it would be nice. It's just that she needs enhanced care which we're paying a lot of money for, but they're not there to help her. It's assisted living, but they have a special license that allows them to help her transfer. During the day, the aides are really good, but in the evening, they're understaffed. Last night, there was one aide for the whole department. Some staff members are fantastic, but the other ones don't come. The food is terrible. The activities are fantastic. It costs more because she needs more help, but she's not getting the help we're paying for.

I didn't like Brompton Heights. It seemed like everybody was running amuck in a hospital with carpet. I didn't care for the environment at all. They should have better meal coordination because when I walked into the front area, they were gathering and everybody was running around. Dinner wasn't for another hour and they were already crammed in there. The staff was very pleasant.
