I visited this facility

This review is on Aaron..Leasing Specialist. We traveled from out of state to see this property along with two others. This was the first one and we liked it. We were told that a particular top floor was available and were provided a price. We were sold. When we got home we called to secure the apartment only to learn that the tenants had extended their lease (in other words, it was never fully available). Aaron was our sales rep working this and he said that there were other units available (same plan and same floor) for the same price. Just to be clear -we texted Aaron the details that we agreed to and he confirmed. Went to apply for a lease online and the price was more than what he had quoted us and agreed to. We escalated to the regional manager as Aaron apparently does not have the authority to honor what we had agreed to. Still waiting for a call back from Aaron and the regional manager. We shortened our exiting lease so that we could move earlier. Took time off from work to move. And now this? Bait and switch? What’s going on? This is very unprofessional.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom went into Poets Walk before the pandemic. We were promised a lot and the residence did not get what they paid for. The room was ok but there were no activities to speak of and they stopped taking residence out in the community. They started out having a lot of activities but that changed to very few activities after COVID. My mom was left in her room to sit and watch TV or in a room with no stimulation. The staff were nice but not educated and did not know how to care for her. The Staff lacked the experience, often did not put mom\'s dentures in her mouth, sometimes it looked like they were not bathing her because of her greasy hair, did not often dress her appropriately for the weather, and they allowed moms drinks to run down her top as she was having a harder time eating. I not only had problems with the facility I had a hard time getting my refund from the company. We were told it takes 45 days to get our refund. It took 51 work days to get my mom\'s refund (over two months). After 45 days, I called daily and left messages with corporate but nobody called me back. I finally talked to accounts payable after calling her two times the week before leaving messages and no phone call was. I got the money back because I was persistent and the last time I called I reached her and then is when she sent the money the next day. Poet\'s Walk is not worth the money. Your parent is not important and the money is the only thing that is important to them. Management and corporate both do not deal with the problems instead they pretend there is nothing wrong. There is never enough staff for the number of residents and staff is changing all of the time.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND INSPIRED SENIOR LIVING OF LAS VEGAS. SERVICE IS AWFULD, FOOD IS AWFUL, NO LEADERSHIP. I HAD TO MOVE MY HUSBAND OUT WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF BEING THERE. HE WAS NOT HAPPY, DIDN\'T FEEL SAFE HAVING HIM THERE AND BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CARE, HE WAS VERY STRESSFUL THERE. THEY NEVER DID A WELLNESS CHECK ON HIM DURING HIS ENTIRE STAY, WAS PROMISED A WELLNESS CHECK SEVERAL TIMES A DAY DURING OUR TOUR AND CONTRACT SIGNING. THEY DID NOT LIVE UP TO THEIR DEAL.

My aunt has been living at The Homestead in Boulder City for a year now, and she is very happy living there. She loves the staff members and other residents who all look after each other like a family. She believes it\'s the best kept secret \"over the hill\" from Las Vegas. They\'ve recently changed their status to just a 55+ senior community, and no longer have assissted living. I would highly recommend The Homestead as a great place to live based on my aunt\'s experience there.

I am a current client of this provider

What a horrible place. I am currently here, and will be for a while. The facility is old, worn down, dirty, smelly, and everything else. Food, don\'t even go there, I guess the upside is I will be bake to loose weight rather than eating this dog food. They don\'t even bring me food, I have to remind them everyday that I am here and entitled to a tray! They have 15 beds per each CNA. Essentially, if you\'re coming here, then you\'re coming here to die. There is no care here, just pain and agony!

I visited this facility

The facility is very very spacious and bright as well as clean. Staff is friendly and helpful when ever possible. I have had no real chance to observe activities. Food does not look so appealing to me but that is a matter of taste. Of course I have nothing to compare for value of the package over others.

My mother lived here for a little over 2 years before she passed away in January 2021. She just gave up due to lack of care and interaction. Dementia patients need interaction, activities and care. Even during Covid19 the CDC stated dementia patients needed interaction. In the beginning Poet\'s Walk seemed wonderful. The people, activities coordinator, RN and social worker were there to help. It is one of the benefits that sold us. Then they were gone...one by one. Replacements didn\'t come and questions were asked by resident\'s family. Always an excuse. Mom\'s room was dirty, bathroom area and toilet was filthy. When complained about situation, including pictures, was told not enough workers...rather than workers for laundry duty, caregivers were expected to do laundry and maintain room. During Covid19 it became worse. Mom fell multiple times as a result of being \"locked\" in room. She would try to get out of wheelchair and caregivers were scarce and not checking. Mom needed assistance with eating. Caregivers felt it was an imposition on their time. I talked to management and was told I might need to hire someone. Even during covid, as an essential caregiver for my mom, I went several times a week to make sure she was fed. I would not recommend Poet\'s Walk to anyone at this point unless they change their purpose....to care for residents and not make it all about money for bonuses etc.

Overall, I would give Montara Meadows a solid "A". It is good and I like it. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It seems very clean to me.

My parents were residents of Acacia Springs for almost 2 years. The care in the facility is great, it's an active community, the food is good, the places are clean, and the two bedrooms are very adequate. They started in independent living, and now they're in assisted living. It's not a huge place, it's a nice place, it's more intimate, and they do interact a lot with people there. Everybody knows each other. They have a pool, you can use it year-round if you want, it's heated, it's outside, they also have a hot tub that's inside, they have 2 dining rooms, one for independent and one for assisted living. Even if you're in assisted living, you can go to the independent side, you can go to either side you want. My father likes to have omelets every morning, so they give him an omelet every single morning, cause that's what he wants. You can have breakfast in your room at any time, and they'd like you to go down for lunch and dinner, to one of the cafeterias. The dining room is nice, especially on the independent side. Because of the pandemic, they haven't had their bar open, they had a fruit bar that was open 24/7, but when things settle down, they'll reopen it, and you'll be able to get your coffee or anything like that any time of the day without asking somebody to get it for you. They have the typical bingo and other games. My mother goes to an exercise class almost every day, and if it's nice, they do it outside. They have a movie room and a library, they have a beauty shop, and the best exercise room of any assisted living I've been in. It's clean, it's not like over- the- top showy, it has that very home feel to it, the lady who runs it is phenomenal, she does an excellent job. They brought someone in for their flu shots, anybody who wanted their flu shots could go upstairs and get them, same with their covid shots. They have two buses, three days a week, they'll drive you anywhere you wanna go, to your doctors, or hairdressers, anywhere. You just sign up for it. There are dinner sign-ups if you wanna go for dinner, they'll take your group to dinner somewhere outside the facility, or they do trips to Walmart, they save Mondays and Fridays for shopping needs, and if you can't do the shopping, they'll shop for you. You just pay for whatever your thing was, they don't make you pay extra for that, that's all included. They're very helpful there. They have a couple of different church services there. They started having cocktail nights, and they have live music, entertainers come in and sing, and whoever has a birthday on a certain month, they have a special birthday dinner for them, and they'll have cake or a meal of their choice like steak or lobster, whatever they decided to fix, and they recognize the veterans. The veterans always have their pictures on the wall. The one drawback I would say is the one-bedroom is really small, but some people are fine with it, one of my mom's neighbors is there too, she has the one-bedroom, and it suited her fine 'cause she goes "I'm never in my room unless I'm sleeping or just relaxing." They have two outdoor areas, they also have a courtyard that you can have cookouts in, and they have a little putting green there. You can have pets.
