Over all the place itself was great. My cousin is in there because she had a stroke. We went in at 3:30 and she was wet pushed the call button. No response. A hour later a aid comes in and tells her she’s not changing her she was just changed awhile ago. Then leaves. Brings back her food she didn’t want it. The aid ask if she wanted a hamburger and fries. She said yes. 20 minutes lates the aid comes back and looks at her really mean and says you really don’t want that hamburger and fries right. My cousin looked afraid she said no. And she still never changed her. We left after over two hours and she still hadnt been changed. That was on August 12 2022. The very next Wednesday we went back she said she hadnt had her pill yet. So we went to see why she hadn’t gotten it. The nurse came in and said that they didn’t have any of the pill she takes in the building. How do you run out of a patients pills. Is someone else taking them. She can’t talk because of her stroke. We do signs trying to figure out what she is saying. Also on the 12 when we pushed the call button the aid only responded to yell at my cousin because her button was on. And then she put it on the left where she can’t reach it. She is parilized on her right side.

It was good. It was pretty busy, and it seemed to be crowded. The staff member gave me a tour and took the time to show me everything, but he didn't have a room available. They could use a little help with the cleanliness too. The staff member was very friendly and very helpful. He gave me all the information I needed. The place wasn't kept up, and it felt more institutional.

I liked The Woodlands of Columbus, but it's a larger and it's not in the greatest of areas, which is a drawback. It's kind of in a congested area, with a lot of apartments on the same road, and it's right off of a main thoroughfare. The staff was nice and friendly.

I hired Home Instead before. I had various caregivers that they kept moving around, but otherwise, it was OK. The attitude was fine, but they wanted me to have four hours a day, so I stopped. They took care of my husband, made light meals, and did some light housekeeping. They need to have a more professional look.

My mother is doing fine at The Woodlands of Columbus. Her room is clean. She's been enjoying the entertainment and the activities room. She's not satisfied with the food, but she's really picky. Everyone on the staff is as nice as can be.

I visited Woodlands of Columbus, and I noticed that it was too large. The person I had an appointment with wasn't there, so I wasn't pleased, and none of my questions were answered. They had the recreations director show me around, and she did a fine job. I saw the rooms, the dining area, and the lobby. They were all clean and nice.

Assisted Living Costs in Columbus
Assisted living costs in Columbus, per Genworth’s 2018 Cost of Care study, are just above the national average of $4000 and below the state average of $4,278. It’s one of the more affordable cities in the state, on par with the Canton Area ($3,798) and Lima ($4,145), and considerably less expensive than Dayton ($5,300) and Cincinnati ($4,998).
Care Cost Comparison
Senior living costs vary greatly depending on the level of care an individual needs. Part-time care, such as adult day health ($1,560), is much less expensive than home health services ($4,195) and assisted living ($4,170), but offers only limited hours. While home health services seem to be in line with assisted living costs, it’s important to consider the added expense of rent or mortgage payments, utilities, upkeep and groceries. These costs are typically included in assisted living fees. Nursing homes are also an inclusive package, but average costs are more than $3,000 over the cost of assisted living.
