Brookdale Mentor was very clean and very neat. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, kind, and easygoing. They seem to know all the residents by name. They had studios and apartments. They offered a lot of services and activities, a weight room, a lot of social gatherings, and a lot of outings. I was there before the pandemic, so I saw everything. They had courtyards, raised flower beds for gardening, and a lot of outdoor walking paths for them. They offered food, but I didn't try any.

Dining room is too small to accommodate the residents. Poor quality of food, cheap cuts of meat. No blueberries, strawberries or fresh pineapple offered all year. Had to change the lock and limit access of key to prevent snooping in unit by staff while I went to dinner. Two of my chairs were broken when a staff member stepped on them trying to access the security camera installed in my unit. Management never offered to reimburse me for fixing the furniture.

My father-in-law stayed at Brookdale Mentor. It seemed very nice three years ago with good staffing, but it was sold and got crappy. I'm not impressed with their leadership and we were told our father was too complicated, so they told us we have 30 days to get out. We moved him and they were mad because we moved him. Somebody complained and they found out they complained about the wrong person. It was a beautiful facility, but it was a better company before they sold it.

I like the staff at Brookdale Mentor and I think they'll do a good job taking care of the patients. They seemed nice, small, and it's what I'm looking for. It wasn't filthy.
