The rooms are great and clean, the food good and the staff was wonderful. Our loved one was there for almost 4 years and got the best care ever. Happy Hours is always a very nice event. We have never met a more gracious staff and have had many meals in the dining room with our loved one. This is a facility I would want to be in and it's close to our home. They're THE BEST!

We went to Maplewood at Twinsburg. It was very limited, but we got to see a room, and it was very small. I don't know if they offer the good-sized rooms, I don't think they do. It's a beautiful facility, and it seemed like they were offering a lot of activities. My sister-in-law was leaning heavily on this facility, but when we saw the size of the room, she decided against it. Emery, who we worked with, was absolutely fantastic. The major thing I didn't like was when you run out of money you have to move, and that was a major issue with me. They have memory care.

Hudson Grande was very nice. I really liked it. The people were super friendly, very clean, and very upbeat. It seems like they had a lot of activities. We saw a studio there. My mom used to be in a 1-bedroom when she didn't need assisted living or when she was independent. The room seemed small to her, but it's a studio, so it's going to be that way. All of their assisted living were studios. I heard the food was nice, but I have not sampled it. There were a few people at a table and the tables were spread out. The staff who accommodated me was wonderful. The facility was topnotch.

My sister-in-law was in Brookdale Montrose. She got to the point where she couldn't stay there anymore, but they did take very good care of her. They were easy to work with. They actually moved her belongings to the other facility for us because of this virus thing -- all her dressers, bed, lamps, and everything that she had in the room -- so they were very helpful there. The staff was very good also. She seemed very content there, the food was really good, she liked it, she liked the people there, the staff, and she was upset that she had to move. They catered to her diet very well.

The staff at Hudson Grande Senior Living was very nice. The facility was not as beautiful as the others, but it was nice. They had studios and studio plus, which had a kitchenette in a separate area from the main room. It's well kept and clean. They keep the people occupied with their activity calendar. The dining room was clean, but it didn't have the flare the others did. They sent me home with some treats. The landscape was snow covered, but they had the sidewalks salted and everything cleaned. It was well kept, but it wasn't as homey as the others I have visited.

Our experience with Summit Point so far has been very good. Their staff just seemed to genuinely care and they communicate well. The availability of the food is good, and my father says that the variety is good. We've seen places that were cheaper and some places that were more expensive, but they're kind of in the middle.

We were told by the social worker at the hospital that Mom needed 24-hour care as she was a fall risk, home care was new to us and not sure how to go about it. The hospital social worker provided her recommendations and we researched and discovered Healing Starts at Home. All of Moms caregivers are experienced and so compassionate. We live out of state and it eases our minds that Mom is being taking care of and no longer home alone, they keep my siblings and I updated daily on Moms progress. I sleep so much better now….

Copley Place was very bright and clean. One of the things I liked was that in the long hallways, they had chairs every so often where people could sit. Everything else was very nice. The person who showed me around appeared to be very knowledgeable, helpful, and gave us quite a bit of information. The dining facilities and menus looked pretty darn good.

3 months ago we lost our father to cancer. Until 3 weeks prior to his death, our family was unaware of how advanced our mothers Alzheimer’s had become. We promised our father she would be well cared for and we are so happy with Maplewood. We initially placed her at a facility in Hudson believing their promises and 3 weeks later brought her to one of her children’s homes. I’m an oncology nurse x 32 years. Here’s the bottom line. It’s not the facility or the amenities, it’s the people, the staff. Pay attention to the staff. Do they smile and make eye contact with you and your loved one? Do they communicate the care delivered? Do you get calls from the medical caregivers/NPs re: concerns and medical care updates? Mentally ill/dementia patients can not speak for themselves so be sure you can build healthy relationships with those who are caring for your loved one. Maplewoods staff is wonderful! In a world where getting good caregivers is difficult, and fancy facilities are not...be wise...ask to meet as many caregivers in a facility as possible. Maplewood’s staff does memory care well and their engaged director is both kind and wise. All staff know our Mum and care about her. Our family loves Mums new home. It’s clean, welcoming and she has activities and outings she enjoys. Thank you Maplewood! I hope you all get rewarded for your excellent care because your happiness matters too! ❤️Peggy
