We actually made a deposit on Mary's Woods. We liked it a lot. It's got nice rooms, nice location, nice food, nice people, and lots of activities. They had a pool and a gym, and they're having lots of new restaurants and a health center. It's big, and it's got like 700 residents. They had all sorts of things, water color, yoga, volleyball, and water volleyball with other retirement centers. They had a mancave where several of the guys can get together and do woodworking and make things and hangout.

My mother-in-law is moving into Oswego Place by Bonaventure. They have been wonderful to let my husband and I come in and tour their rooms. And we really had to make a fast decision because we're headed to hospice very quickly and unexpectedly, and they have been incredibly accommodating. The personalized care, and the seeking to understand our need, and being able to accommodate far more than assisted living, as far as medical care needs. I would say the room is adequate for her needs. It is a beautiful setting, very scenic with a family feel. They let us decorate it and bring her personal things to make it feel like home for her. They seem very genuine. They're trying to limit walking through the space but we kind of saw the living room area, the fireplace and then the dining hall and the front room that had a piano. Those were all very nice. But we were not able to see other stuff in action. It was very clean. The level of nursing care that they are able to provide in an assisted living family type setting seems far above most places outside of skilled nursing home.

The Springs at Carman Oaks was very nice and secluded, but was an awful long way from me, which is a huge drawback. I had quite an extensive tour. They have craft time available and a little garden area where the residents can work on gardening or plant vegetables. We met several of the staff members and they were all very friendly and helpful. The place was very pleasant, clean, and well-kept.

We toured The Springs at Carman Oaks. It was five stars all the way around. The grounds and apartments were excellent. They had a swimming pool, gardens, a library, beauty parlor, and lots of other facilities. I ate there, and they had excellent food. The staff was helpful and personable. The tour was amazing, but it's more expensive.

I really like The Springs at Carman Oaks. The people were very friendly, and they had a lot of planned activities. They had a swimming pool and spa that you could go at anytime. They have an exercise room and a theater. I liked the idea of being able to cook in our own apartment since they have full kitchens. The dining area was nice, and the grounds were nice. The whole thing was quite nice, but a little on the expensive side.
