Tillamook is located in Tillamook County in northwest Oregon. The town is situated at the end of Tillamook Bay, and is named after a Native American tribe that lived in the area until the 19th century. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,935. Tillamook is a dairy town, as the town is surrounded by thriving dairy farms. The Tillamook County Creamery Association produces milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and other fine dairy products, and the town’s cheese factory hosts approximately one-million visitors per year. Thus, it’s safe to say that this rural community is powered by the dairy industry.
