The Pines at Philadelphia is a beautiful facility that truly cares for each and every patient. The staff, and especially the administrator are extremely attentive to all their residents’ needs. I am very happy that my aunt is in this home for her recovery needs, and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a place for themselves or their loved one to recover.

Great Rehab-very nice, clean, and friendly. As a family member, coming in seeing the care and special attention they give is very nice to see. I felt at ease when leaving knowing the care was outstanding.

I went to check out the facility for a relative of mine and while I was there I took a quick tour. The facility and the grounds were really nice and modern looking. The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant to deal with. I work in healthcare and know how these facilities can be run and in my opinion The Pines is run extremely well and I would gladly recommend my family and friends here.

My grandma was there after a bad fall and hip fx. They have such a wonderful rehab department! She was back to herself in 2 weeks! The staff are kind and caring and the food was amazing! I would highly recommend this facility for anyone needing short term rehab

My mom used the rehab at St John Neumann. They have activities and you can ask people questions about your loved ones. There were people around who could assist you and they do everything in their power to make the stay there comfortable for the patients and their families. They treated my mom the way residents are supposed to be treated. I had no complaints about them.

The Terrace at Chestnut Hill is very quaint. It is a series of older homes that are interconnected, so it has a very nice homey feel to it. The person who toured us was great. The dining area looked nice, but the room was too small. They're mostly a single-person-per-room set-up. For a single person, it would be fine. There was only one activity going on then.

The Terrace at Chestnut Hill was very nice and comfortable. The residents seemed happy and the care seemed appropriate. For the price, there was a lot included and I thought it would be a good place for my mother. The rooms were average-sized and my mother would have to bring her own furniture. It also has a good-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. They also had a movie room, a nice backyard with a porch area you can sit on, a fireplace area that residents could sit in, and an area where they're playing bingo. They're trying to put their best foot forward and they're very friendly. It's an older building but remodelled really nicely.
The median cost of assisted living in Philadelphia for a single-occupancy apartment is $5,318/month (Genworth - 2018). This monthly cost typically includes rent, utilities, dining, housekeeping and transportation.
Home to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, Philadelphia can easily be considered America’s most historical city. Our country was essentially born in Philadelphia, where both the Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitution were signed. As residents of assisted living in Philadelphia stroll the streets of their city, they never know when they might stumble upon the next famous building or landmark.
Located in what was once the most populous area of the United States, Philadelphia now contains the fifth highest number of citizens in the nation. Over 185,000 of residents are age 65 or older. Seniors living in The City of Brotherly Love will experience sun in the summer, snow in the winter, and mild autumns and springs.
Philadelphia is best known for its many museums and historical attractions, but the city also offers ample encounters with nature at the Philadelphia Zoo, Longwood Gardens and Valley Forge National Park. In the evenings, seniors enjoying assisted living in Philadelphia can relax while viewing a Broadway show, opera or musical recital in the glass-domed Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. The city is a shopper’s paradise from the elegant King of Prussia Mall to the savings found at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets—and clothing is always tax-free in Pennsylvania!
The Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) funds nearly 50 community senior centers throughout the city. The PCA website provides a helpful calendar of activities and programs geared specifically for elderly Philadelphians. Tech-savvy residents of assisted living in Philadelphiacan keep up with the city’s senior services and events by subscribing to the Milestones eNews online magazine.
Albert Einstein Medical Center is the area’s premier teaching hospital, and it offers residents of assisted living in Philadelphia a free health and wellness membership program called Premier Years. If your loved one is in the mood to mix history with health, there’s nothing better than a visit to Pennsylvania Hospital, an institution founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1751.
Now affiliated with the University of Philadelphia Health System, only the roots of this facility remain in the past, as their medicinal practices have advanced dramatically over the years since the hospital’s establishment.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) offers a wide variety of public transportation options. Seniors age 65 years or older ride free on all buses, trolleys and subways. It costs residents of assisted living in Philadelphia only $1.00 to ride the railway system within Pennsylvania and 50% of the standard fare to cross into neighboring states. Customized Community Transportation (CCT) provides a paratransit service called CCT Connect to senior citizens. CCT Connect operates as a door-to-door drop-off or a shared-ride program. Riders must pay a fee for either service.
