The Hudson Valley Senior Residence is for seniors who need assistance with some of the aspects of daily life, but wish to live as independently as possible. We are proud of our conscience staff who adheres to the philosophy of â€˜we care about you as well as for you' - and we have a very low staff turnover rate which helps to assure continuity of care. Residents receive delicious home cooked meals with attention paid to special diets and personal likes as well as evening snacks and refreshments at social events.
 
The Hudson Valley Senior Residence helps to bridge the gap between living at home and living in a nursing home. We encourage independent living - but offer services that make sure all the needs of life are taken care of. A full calendar of supervised daily activities helps to encourage socialization and keep residents active and healthy. A beauty shop and barber are on site, and other services include such things as housekeeping, linen changes, and personal laundry services.
 
We serve as liaison with each resident&#39;s personal physician to assure and arrange for proper medical treatments when necessary. We provide medication supervision, and monitor and refill prescription medications in a timely manner. Physician and podiatry services are available on site. 
 
We also offer supervised showering in the privacy of one&#39;s own room and assistance with dressing when necessary.

New Paltz Center

Welcome to The Culinarians Home! The Culinarians' Home is an Adult Home, licensed by the New York State Department of health. The Home is located near New Paltz, New York, just 90 miles north of NYC. Historic New Paltz has a vibrant tourist, residential, and college community adding up to a varied selection of art, museums, entertainment, and theaters. When Oscar Tschirky sought the site for his new home, he looked for fertile land, a spectacular view and a sense of peace.
 
He found all of it in New Paltz, New York. He made his home here on rolling farm land along the meandering Wallkill River, west of the Hudson, and mid-way between New York City and Albany. That was 1889.
 
From his farm, Oscar commuted to New York by train from New Paltz or via trolley to the banks of the Hudson to catch the steamers heading south. Oscar made the trip often as he was the much famed maitre&#39;d, Oscar of the Waldorf Astoria. He is credited designing the Waldorf&#39;s signature dishes, Veal Oscar, Waldorf Salad, and Thousand Island Dressing.
 
In 1942, Oscar&#39;s property became the Culinarians&#39; Home Foundation and was established as a retirement community. Since then the entire residence has been renovated, retaining the real and warm atmosphere of a family home. You will immediately sense that physical as well as spiritual comfort is abundant.
 
Today, in the walnut-paneled dining room, the leaded stained glass windows still face out upon open fields, a flowing stream, and granite cliffs. Large mature evergreens and hardwood trees lend shade and provide cover for the native and migrating birds. Terraces and gardens grace gently sloping lawns and carefully tended walks beckon you to explore.
