At Brookdale Nine Mile we focus our efforts on aiding our residents&#39; abilities rather than disabilities. We realize those suffering from Alzheimer&#39;s or dementia are experiencing a complex and progressive disease process. We therefore provide, through our ISC (Innovative Senior Care) team, on-site, pro-active physical, occupational and speech therapies which complement the therapeutic services provided by our licensed nursing team.

Individuals working with memory loss residents must have compassion, understanding and creativity. Our staff are carefully selected and trained to understand and manage the unique challenges associated with dementia. Many of the same caregivers are with a resident throughout the day, giving them a sense of familiarity while they are helped with their daily needs.

We believe it's important for our higher functioning residents to be in a unit with other residents that are functioning close to their level. 

We work with Home Health providers to provide any therapies that are needed or ordered by our resident's physician.

Because the vast majority of fatal falls to seniors occur in individual bathrooms, we have designed our central bathroom system to mitigate against risk. This system (three in each cottage) are designed to transition from individual use to one and two-person assistance in toileting and showering. In addition, our staff can easily keep three large bathrooms in pristine condition, instead of attempting to keep 14 individual ones clean each day. We schedule toileting prompts and brief checks/changes for residents on a two-hour schedule, so that we can assist them, observe any issues or changes in condition, clean up, keep briefs fresh, etc. We schedule showers to ensure all residents have access to the bathrooms and can get assistance easily. As we are the ninth Cottages community built by our parent company, we know this system works well and does a great job of keeping our residents safe.</li>
<li>Our parent company, CarePartners Living, has the largest floating Medicaid license in the state of WA. In all our 15 communities, all our apartments or rooms are licensed to be Medicaid, instead of a small number set aside for Medicaid clients. Since we have either a 2-3 yr spend down, or accept Medicaid at the time of admission in some buildings, our residents can be sure that if they complete their spend down requirement, and need assisted living or memory care, there will always be a place for them in their own community and in all likelihood, they’ll stay in their current apartment/room after they’ve completed their spend down.</li>

Classy Retreat is a memory care provider, serving residents 55 years of age and up. It has on-staff nurses and staff members awake 24 hours a day. Visiting professionals include a speech therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and podiatrist. The facility is secured to protect wandering residents. Diabetes, non-ambulatory, respite, hospice and incontinence care are available.

Home Share Healthcare is a three-resident senior care facility. The facility's staff includes RNs and LPNs, who provide 24-hour assistance with the activities of daily living activities, medication management, blood sugar monitoring and other medical needs, including feeding tube management and wound care. Staff can perform single-person assisted transfers. A doctor is on call to handle consultations, medication adjustments and medical emergencies. The facility uses an array of therapies to encourage the mental health of residents with Alzheimer's or dementia.
Home Share Healthcare offers a multitude of community amenities. Residents are served meals throughout the day, and dining options include room service and special meals for vegetarian and reduced-sodium diets. A four-bed adult family home, Princeton Place is licensed to accommodate individuals with dementia, mental illnesses and developmental disabilities. The staff provides customized personal care services and medication assistance, and skilled nursing services may be arranged with professional providers. The home has an on-call resident nurse administrator for medical oversight and features roll-in and whirlpool tubs in the wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. 
Princeton Place AFH is designed to provide a homelike environment where residents can age in place comfortably and securely. The facility's Eden Project concept emphasises the presence of plants and small animals in the surroundings, and offers therapeutic activities and calming window views.
