Morningside of Lexington was very nice and very clean. They tried to be really helpful, but you had to be completely mobile to be able to stay there. It was pretty modern and up-to-date. The staff member during the tour was very nice, and she went into detail about all the rooms and the accommodations. The dining room was very open and clean, and the landscape was very beautiful.

I really liked Morningside of Lexington. It just didn't seem like the room was going to be big enough for my mother. I didn't want it to seem like a hospital room. I wanted something that had a little more space. They have some bigger areas towards the front, but it was getting too expensive. It was very nice and I liked the people there. I just didn't like the room size. The staff, the food, and everything else seemed really great. It appealed to me.

We went to The Columbia Presbyterian Community. The lady who does the tours wasn't there, so we walked around ourselves. We had stopped by there to get some pricing, and it was a little out of our price range, so we didn't pursue it any further. The facility was very nice. They had a little of everything, activity rooms, and a nice, very large dining room area that was partitioned so they could open it up to do other activities. It was very nicely set up.

Mom is scheduled to move to Oakleaf this month. Everybody there was friendly, they answered all the questions I had, it was very clean, and we were introduced to the housekeeping and dining staff. Everything I asked for I got during the interviews. We looked at a studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments. The rooms were small, but they were not selling space, they were selling care. I liked that they come by every morning to wake up the residents. That was important to me. They have scheduled games, craft classes, floral arrangement classes, and a general meeting area for those things. She'll know where to go when it's time for class. The rates are all inclusive.

My husband lived at Morningside of Lexington. They had three meals a day and he liked the food. The management was very friendly, nice, and cooperative. He had a very nice 1-bedroom apartment, and the grounds were kept very nice. The place was very attractive. Some of the staff members were great, and some of them weren't so good. The food though was very good.

I went to Oakleaf Village, and they did not have any openings. The staff was very informative. I knew everything that went on in there because I had booklets and everything, but I knew there was no opening, and I didn’t know where there would be an opening, so I didn’t pursue it any longer. It was very clean, and their price was comparable to all the other ones. It is a very big community. They have an Alzheimer's unit and the regular assisted living type.
