Rooms just ok but the smell of feces is bad. Patients yelling out in pain a lot. Food is unappetizing. Dr. changed meds which caused hallucinations, anxiety, fear and agitation. Discontinued hospice even though we were told she needed it elsewhere. Agreed she could keep it at admission. Our Mom is a dementia patient with extreme paranoia and agitation and qualifies for extra help. Do not take your family member to this facility. They will promise you anything to get you in there and then deny they said you could have it. Their doctor was clueless to what our Mom needed.

My father is in Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. He's in assisted living there, but he hasn't been there too long. He's doing really well and seems healthier, and it just seems to be a good place for him. The activities are pretty much shutdown because of the virus. He finds the staff friendly, and they all know him and they think he's friendly, so they seem to be getting along well. He's not very used to eating processed food really, so he's had some digestive issues, but he says it's edible. I've been there several times when he's had his meals, and I was very pleased to know it's the kind of cafeteria food that I'm kinda used to. We supplement his diet. We took him out yesterday and got him some kind of clean food that he can eat, and some fruits and vegetables, the fresher variety. They give him two choices right now and they're aware that he doesn't eat pork, and everyone's aware of that, and they're very considerate about making sure he has another option. The building itself and the hallways on the floor that he lives on, it is more of like an apartment structure where he has a key to his door, which makes him feel really secure and independent. They have two elevators, but one elevator is not working. His room is actually redecorated and redone, they put new flooring, painted walls, the bathroom is brand new, his kitchen is brand spanking new, the flooring is new, he has a screened-in porch, the window treatment, just in perfect condition. It's not what you would expect. They have some walking grounds in the courtyard. He gets to control his own temperature, which has been a plus, and his room is very spacious, his bedroom is very spacious, bathroom is spacious, he has a living area, and a kitchen. He has a physical therapist, who he sees weekly, that comes with it, and he has a nurse practitioner who visits once a week. That's the only activity he has and it's not even an activity, but at least it's a connection.

I visited Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. It's beautiful and it's absolutely what I would want, but I'm not ready for it right now. I'm giving myself about an 18-month window. They were awesome and friendly. They go out of their way, and they're detailed. Anything and everything they can offer, they do. They're so accommodating. It's just incredible. The rooms were awesome, and it's so peaceful. Everything was so open, light and airy. They have everything you could possibly want. I talked with one lady, Tina, about adding some things for them, some art for a lot of the residents because I've got a big background in art, a choir, and a reading program. I'd love to do that for them.

The food at Wesley Court Assisted Living is good. It's a smaller place with about 50 max residents. They have fun activities like a band was there playing when I was there. The nurses they have are friendly. They do bingo and musical bingo as well, and bands would come and perform. They have a beauty shop, and they do their church service in the activity room.

Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn was extremely nice, and a lot better than most places. The layout of the room was great, but it was a little on the small side. The dining area smelled like every dining area in any school or hospital. They all have that spoiled green bean smell. The facility was excellent. The staff was fine, very courteous, and answered every question I asked. The residents all seemed happy and content being there.
