I was there to visit a friend on July 12. I never saw such a gorgeous place for a retirement community… I would give you 10+ stars. I am so happy. My elderly friend is living. There is a beautiful beautiful spot. Thank you so much for all the work you do.

The Heron House is the most wonderful long term care facility!! My Mom was a House Mate at Heron House for over 3 years. The sincere 'loving care' she received there was heartwarming. She was happy there. Communication between staff and myself was ongoing. The owners are onsite just about 24/7! As my Mom's needs increased the staff was always able to provide the appropriate level of care. The kitchen is "always open"and serves a wonderful variety of delicious meals. The building provides out door space as well as numerous beautifully updated indoors areas; all house mates have a private room. The most important part of Heron House is the terrific, caring, and loving staff..I can't say enough about the love, yes love that all of the staff shows to each and every house mate. That of course is the most important aspect of choosing a facility..Heron House has the best...the very best staff!!

My mom moved into Sunnybrook on a 60 day trail bases. Statie whom I spoke with and gave us tours of several apartments. She spent a lot of time helping mom find the perfect apartment. Statie also went up and beyond to help mom find other community members for mom. Mom was made to feel very welcome by residents and staff included her in activities and checking to see how she is doing. Thanks to everyone at Sunnybrook my mom is a very happy to be a resident. I cannot say enough about Statie and what a kind caring and amazing lady she is. Her asset to Sunnybrook is amazing and she is always there for us no matter what.

Do not let your loved one stay there. From number 2s left to dry in room to falling, there is very little employee involvement

My mother has moved into The Bridges at Bent Creek. The care has been very good. The staff members seem to be very caring towards my mother. Communication with them is a little bit sparse; it could be a little better. Because of COVID, I'm not sure what's going on exactly, but she has participated in meals, and she seems comfortable there. She's enjoying the meals and everything, and she said the food is really good. It seems like we made a good choice.

My ex-husband will be moving in to Heritage Place in February. I have been there myself to bring his stuff and clean up because we're already moving him in slowly. The people there are friendly and helpful. I love it there. It's a good place for him to be because it is right around the corner from the VA Medical Center, so if there's any problem or issue, they could get right at it. It's also clean. I like the way it looked, and he will be staying on the 1st floor, which is a good thing.

I went to visit a facility at Canco road in Portland called The Woods. It was very, very nice but it was so expensive I couldn't afford it. I only met one person there and he seemed to be very nice. I don't know if they have a community room because of Covid going on. They showed me a 1-bedroom apartment, I thought it was a little bit small. There was no place to put things, there was not enough storage, it was very clean though. There was no courtyard. Everything was fine, everything was very orderly and it was very nice.

My brother is at The Woods at Canco. All the people there are very positive and very kind. I was impressed with the reactions of all the other people who are living there who seem to be very happy. They are all reaching out to my brother to walk him in there, so that's kinda cool. They haven't had one case of virus yet, which is a good thing. They have a very good program in as far as the entry into the building to make sure that everyone is questioned and temperature is taken and so on and so forth. They have excellent facilities. They're very nice and it's like they're living in a hotel. You have your own little apartment, which comes out into the hallways, and there are three floors. There is a library and a chapel. There are some rooms that are larger, but his room is the smallest one, which is the least expensive and came closer to his budget. They have a servant that is serving meals in the room so they're dropping food outside the door on the chair and knocking on the door. All of those are delivered in a container that you can eat out of and you put the container back out. They ran it by to see if they can reuse them and then throw out in a dishwasher. I'm impressed with them so far, like when they came and helped us set up the TV so that my brother could have 100 stations, which is kind of nice. It's a perfect spot for him. They have a large dining room that was only allowing 20, now up to 30 people. They had three tables put together and cart table at the tables. Overall, they are separating everyone and they're doing a really good job of social distancing. Everybody is required to wear masks. They do exercise programs every day and activities that you can or don't have to get involved with if you don't want to. They also offer bus programs. They have a bus that takes you to the store so you can have groceries. About three days a week they take on a bus that handles 20 people, but they only allow five. They make three to four rounds, so if you need to go to the store you can, but quite honestly, I feel like you're gonna get very used to the meals that they are offering because their food is good. None of the rooms have cooking capabilities. All of the apartments have no stoves. There's only a bathroom for shower, but they also have a little sink for your kitchen there with a counter over next to the refrigerator. It's all very small. They have an exercise program once a day where they go through a whole series of exercises. They have people there that are in wheelchairs, in walkers and in canes, and they all do various exercises in the arms and legs, and that's a good thing. Every night they have a movie at 7:00. Everybody can come into the movie. You can write up movies you personally want to see and put it in as a suggestion.

We visited The Woods at Canco, but it's private pay, and we can't afford it. It was a very nice facility, everybody was friendly, and the staff was awesome. It was very clean and very independent. We saw their studio apartments. They had a TV display in the dining room with a list of activities going on for the day. They had a bible circle, and they had a bunch of things going on. We saw the laundry room and a grand piano.
