My second choice would have been Buckner Villas. It's an older facility. They've been there long time and have all the levels of care there. They have recently built a second building for independent living, though they already one building that's been here quite a long time. The rooms were wonderful. The services were good. Each apartment has with it a coverehad d parking space, some of them in an underground garage, some of them in a garage type thing and that went with your rent. They also offered a 5x7 wire cage area where you could put all your bulk stuff. They had a saltwater pool. However, I didn't like it because they're located very close to I-35 in Austin. Although they had a 25-acre plot there in which they have the independent living, nursing, memory care, and assisted living, it's a huge facility, and their prices were similar to where I am, I did not like the location. I don't want to live in Austin. I still drive my car and I-35 still scares me to death some days. The residents that we talked to were all positive. The rooms were beautiful and well kept. We ate a meal there and it was very good. You can eat anytime and hours were a little bit more flexible. They had delicious food and lots of choices.

We have already signed a contract on Buckner Villas. They provide independent living, help, and memory care. We chose it because they have more options for us, and that we don't have to move again. The community is pretty and the residents are happy. The staff is very nice, very courteous, very helpful, and very educated. They have a sit-down dining room and a deli-type restaurant. They have a salon, a gym, and a swimming pool.
