My wife's mother is a current resident of Juliette Fowler Communities. We know them really well, and they have a really long waiting list. My mother was there, my sister was there, and a cousin was there. My mother-in-law is just tickled pink that she has found it, and that she was able to get in. She loves it there, she loves the people, she loves the services, and they have taken really good care of her. She is ninety-nine years old and still kicking butt. She has a one-bedroom, one-bath. The layout is for a single or a couple, and it is good. You don't really hear your neighbors unless they bang on the wall to get help, which doesn't happen too often. They have regular individual apartments, assisted apartments, and fully assisted apartments. They mainly serve lunches, but they have a service where for $5 they will deliver meals to your door. She's loving the meals down there, and she also loves the laundry room. They have a TV room on each floor, they have puzzles and activities, and they take them to stores and doctors appointments. They don't put salt and stuff on their food, and so it's kind of bland, but it's good and healthy stuff.

It was fine. The lady who assisted me was good to me, and she was helpful. The apartment looked good, she said they had to clean it up, but it still looked good. The dining area looked nice; I would eat there. They had a gym.

My mother is very happy there. She is very happy with her room and also with the maintenance man there. They don't have full food service like three meals a day. Because they have their own kitchens, mainly they just provide an optional breakfast. You can go to the entertainment area, and they have a buffet set up there with all kinds of food on it. I really like it and I like the concept that they have there. They have a great staff, too. It is a very old property, but still it is very nice. It is all bill included. There is also a maid service once a week. I love that it has a really nice heart-like setting which is really nice. It is super easy for my mother to go in and give them the information to move in.

I like it. It's a great place. The food is awesome, and there are a lot of activities available. They have golf on a putting green once a week, a movie night, and beanbag baseball. Everything is great here.

They were very nice, but it's over my budget. The staff was wonderful. The accommodations were better than apartments to me, and they're really nice. The facility was wonderful. I just couldn't afford it.

Sunrise of Hillcrest was very good and very favorable. They had everything well thought out. They gave me a tour of the eating facilities, their activities, and the rooms in both assisted living and memory care. They were all very impressive. The staff member who accommodated me was great. I saw some of the residents eating as well as the menu, and it looked very good.

I would give Meadowstone Place a ten. I hate to leave, but its because I need to be close to family, or I would never leave. The staff is great. They have two chefs that are absolutely wonderful, and they offer cleaning if you need it. Theres always somebody there to say, Can I help you with that? Its just very friendly and very nice. They have cards, they do crafts, they bring outside entertainment, they have lectures, food demonstrations, and they go places like the symphony, shopping center, and movies. They also have in-house movies that are always excellent. Anything you want to do, if you just tell them, they try to get those things in their activities if they're possible. They usually try to get you a good rate, like to go the movies, concerts, or plays. Ive taken advantage of all those and Im so pleased. They take you to doctors' appointments and I cant sing their praises enough.

Brookdale Lake Highlands was in a very nice location. They had a totally separate area for their memory care and the assisted living. It looked more like a luxury hotel. They had a wellness facility and even offered yoga. They had a piano there. There were two females who accommodated me. As soon as I walked in, they got me some coffee. They had snacks for the residents. I talked to the nurse on one of the floors who was very knowledgeable. It's an extremely clean facility.

The cost of nursing home care is more than $700 higher than the cost of assisted living per month, and when compared with home care costs, assisted living is about $300 more per month.
