Don’t believe anything Debo says. This place is terrible, there are no activities unless watching TV is considered an activity, the food consists of mostly sandwiches. My mother was a resident there from March 2017 to October 2018 and was hospitalized too many times for various issues, the last straw was in October my mother’s tongue was so swollen I couldn’t understand a word she said, took her to the hospital because she became non-responsive, reason was because she was severely dehydrated. She spent about 12 days at the hospital before she was released. Found a much better place for my mom.

We entrusted Clayton Oaks with our 91 yr old mother. Soon we found that it was not what was promised. Multiple medication errors were made. My mother received medications meant for a different memory care resident! The director didn’t not give his staff the tools and resources to allow them to care for these Altzheimer and Dementia patients safely. Staff morale was low. No one seemed interested in providing empathetic care to these residents. We approached the staff and director with suggestions but they did not seem interested in any constructive input. We are moving mom to another facility.

This establishment has gone EXTREMELY downhill in the past 6 months that we have had out 91 yr old mom in memory care here!!! The medication errors are daily. We have witnessed many falls and uncaring uneducated caregivers. We are moving our mother. If this review can save but even one person from experiencing what we have, it will have been worth my time.

In reading the previous reviews I realized that these were just people who toured the facility and don’t have a loved one living at Clayton Oaks. It is the most difficult decision in life when you realize that your parent needs more care than you can provide. My sister and I visited EVERY memory care facility in Sugarland. I am a health care professional and still walked out of every one of these facilities crying. The smells, the lack of cleanliness and empathy tore me apart. We were incredibly fortunate to find Clayton Oaks. They care for our mother, stimulate her menatally and the from the caregivers up into the administration have become loving members of our family. They provide human love and compassion. I visit my mother daily and never walk into this facility feeling depressed. My mother has developed so many new friendships. And I have truly fallen in love with the other residents as well as the staff. - Marti Taylor. Sugarland

Clayton Oaks was nice, clean, and close to home. It's a brand-new community; however, the halls were too dark and narrow. It's beautiful and nice, but there's no light, and it didn't feel homey. The rooms were a good size. They had bigger and smaller sizes that were clean and good for the residents. We also went to the memory care section, which was very nice.
