I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad has been at Lyndale San Angelo fo a while now. There's a good amount of stuff that the residents have access to. They provide transportation, meals, medical staff, and very active recreation and amenities, like bingo, a weight room, and a beauty shop. The rooms are spacious and they all have windows which face either onto the courtyard or away from the building. My dad has a huge bathroom with a huge shower. There's plenty of handicap handholds and he's got a kitchenette, so basically it's a little studio apartment. The dining has one side where in the mornings they can walk through buffet kind of thing, and on the other side, they can sit down and actually order what they want. They really go all out to make sure their experience is positive. They serve three meals a day. The staff is very thorough and really responsive whenever my dad needs anything.

Lyndale San Angelo is a very nice community. For a while, they were having problems getting enough help to do the services they promised to provide, like cleaning the apartment. Apparently they were very short handed, but they got that under control now, so it seems to be better. My mom has a studio apartment that's spacious enough for her needs. We didn't put a lot of knickknacks and she needs to get around in her wheelchair. They have activities including exercise classes in the morning. They could improve on the food. To me, it's a pretty good variety but for my mother, it's like chicken and fish all the time. It's probably healthy food but she gets tired of the same thing all the time.
