I made an application to Blue Skies of Texas, and they are preparing an apartment for me. I am in the process of getting ready to move in. The place is outstanding. My cousin has lived there for seven years. I flew up last February to meet with their marketing person. The staff was very helpful and the information they told me was helpful. It really helped me make my decision. It’s a large campus with large homes, cottages, duplexes, and apartments for assisted living, nursing and memory care. They are very friendly and answered all my questions and were supportive in terms of my needs and interest. They have musical groups, which is important to me, and all kinds of exercise in a beautiful setting. The apartment I have overlooks a lovely green, landscaped lawn with a beautiful pond in the middle with a fountain in the middle of that, and Texas Hill Country in the background. It has lots of activities that I would enjoy and very friendly people. Anyone I talked to in the hall when I was exploring with their marketing person was very open and friendly. When I had lunch with an elderly lady, I ashked her what is the worse thing about living here, and she said, "Nothing." One of the important things to me was that Blue Skies was TARS Certified; only about 20% of the continuing care communities in the United States are, so that’s a high level certification for care.

The staff at Blue Skies of Texas East accommodated us very well. I had a very good tour, and the lunch we had was good. The rooms were very nice. They had three separate buildings apart from the main building. Everybody was busy. A person stopped by our table while we were eating, and we got a note from him saying he hoped we had a good time.
