Poor…poor…poor care. If you hate your loved ones then this is the place to take them. Under paid and over worked staff, under qualified, poor training meanwhile, administrative staff indulge in long lengthy lunch breaks, lake parties at the facility skeleton staff tries to maintain lunch for residents. My blind mother in law has dealt with sitting in a pool of urine, skipped meals, meds left on bar (as if she could’ve found it “blind”) abandonment in the the bathroom, rarely accountability or consequences for abuse, your loved one would be better dropped off at an animal shelter, at least they’d be put down in a matter of a few days. These poor people endure this for years under these conditions. We’ve lost my father in law exposed to Covid while in this facility from a staff member among up to 15 other residents last fall( staff wasn’t regularly being tested at the time) my father in law rarely left his room, yet died of Covid. Most of the 15 died as a result…my mother in law was diagnosed but asymptomatic and survived. Recently…we got her the heck out of there…moved her on our property and hired a caretaker. Who’s at fault? Those looking to fill the rooms, overwork the staff, underpay them, without remorse for the treatment of the residents….look at the director. Hope you enjoy another vacation, late arrival to work and another lengthy lunch (daily) while you should be involved with staff trying to serve residents lunch and along side them…guiding by example. Leaders should be leading by example Cathryn. Hope you enjoy another bonus at your staff and residents expense. We’re angry because we were mislead…by the care that was promised upon arrival and the increased cost despite their needs were never delivered unless we were there to deliver it ourselves among many others which we pray for every day. We’ve witnessed very poor treatment of other residents and family members who have the resources to pay for additional caretakers because staff can’t bother delivering food, administering meds and ignore “call lights” as they’d prefer to hang out in the outdoor smoke area. The director is aware of this among all other concerns but doesn’t hold accountability toward staff nor are they willing to pay a fair wage for those that actually do care….it could cut in into their own bonus. Fill those spaces…line the pocket. Lets talk about activities…we were shown an exercise room with equipment, arts, church services, etc….it’s all a lie. Maybe a celebration for holidays and bingo…that is it….period. The quality of food is extremely poor; the kitchen mgr Angie is a beautiful soul but again overworked and very little to work with. I could write book of our daily struggles and challenges with these people and believe me, we fought very hard nearly daily for a year. We held off reporting these matters to APS as conditions for my mother in law was bad enough and we were fearful the conditions could continue to worsen until we could get her out of this place!

My aunt stays in Autumn Wind which is like an overpriced hotel. It caters more to private paying, richer clientele, but the quality of care isn't as good as what it should be for what they pay. She has her own apartment that's bigger than a normal room and homey with a couch and chairs. They have nursing staff available 24/7 if she needs anything. They do crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and try to keep her mind working.
Go a bit further out to explore pricing and amenities.
