Harbor's Edge is a not-for-profit full-service continuing care retirement community. We are the vision of Neil Volder who envisioned a resort-style retirement community set in the Norfolk waterfront area. Since our opening in 2006, we are the first choice for active seniors who are searching for an upscale setting in which to retire.

Our independent living apartment homes are built to modern standards and feature fully equipped kitchens with granite countertops, a washer/dryer, 10-foot ceilings and an option of a balcony, sunroom or terrace. You can select a one-, two- or three-bedroom layout, and we can also help you customize your floor plan.

In keeping with offering a resort-inspired retirement living, our community is home to an indoor heated salt water pool, a Jacuzzi hot tub and fitness center with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. You can express your creative side in our arts and crafts studio and hold a book club in our library. Movie nights are scheduled throughout the week in our very own 40-seat movie theater.

Your retirement at Harbor's Edge also includes on-site security, 24-hour concierge service, a guest suite, complimentary shuttle transportation to shopping and errands, restaurant-style meal service in our Harbor Room or River Terrace Dining Rooms and housekeeping provided for one convenient monthly fee. Utilities and activities are also included in your monthly fees.

For seniors in need of an extra helping hand with life's daily chores, our assisted living and memory care community is staffed around-the-clock with professional caregivers who are able to help with housekeeping, laundry, medications and other personal tasks. Short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services are also available.
