Essene Inc. is located in the small city of Powhatan, just 20 miles west of Richmond, VA, and two hours from the Atlantic coast and the Blue Ridge Mountains. History buffs can explore Century Farms, historic churches and Civil War sites, while outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the region's many open spaces, such as the Powhatan Wildlife Management Area. Powhatan also hosts a number of festivals and events throughout the year, including a county fair and the Antique Power Show.

Essene Inc. is an assisted living community for 28 adults. It provides a safe and homey environment where seniors can live independently while receiving the support and assistance they need. Caregivers are available 24/7, and a physician makes regular visits to the community to monitor the health of residents. Occupational, speech and physical therapy can also be arranged if seniors require additional treatment.

In-house activities are designed to encourage movement and help, residents maintain a healthy lifestyle. Socialization is encouraged and the community features many communal indoor areas where seniors can relax with their neighbors and make new friends. Residents can spend time outdoors in the 14 acres of grounds, which include beautiful rolling hills, large oak trees and a walking trail.
