The Peninsula is a good place. It is independent living, meals are served, there are several options every day for meals, and they have a lot of activities, ranging from bingo to lecture series to music -- various things like that. For the last year during the pandemic, they have been extremely careful, doing things like wiping down surfaces and not allowing people to eat in the dining room. Now they're starting to let a few people at a time in the dining room. We have not had any COVID-19 cases here that I'm aware of. The people are good, nice, and pleasant. They have a lot of pets here; most are small dogs and cats, and they are not a problem. I have been a resident for two-and-a-half years now. I have a one-bedroom with a very large balcony. All of the rooms have balconies. There are also two-bedrooms and studios. We had a book club for a while, I was in charge of that, and I volunteered to do that. We played a lot of cards, and various musicians came in and played lots of country music and stuff like that. I think they have courses on Egypt at this time, a lot of coloring and arts classes, and little craft projects. We have a nice library. It also has a number of tables in it and it's the game room too; it works out pretty well, and it's a pretty large library. We have a very small exercise room with just two exercise machines in it. They do have live exercise classes every morning. I think sometimes they use a video, but usually there's a person who leads it. We have a beauty salon that also does pedicures, manicures, and massage therapy. They have a bus that will accommodate a wheelchair. I'm consigned to a power wheelchair, so I have transportation, which is very nice. The staff is competent and very concerned about the care of the people.

My mother is at the Peninsula. It looks nice, clean, and very comfortable and has an elevator to get up and down to the various levels in it. It's a three-story building, and the main eating area is on the first floor. The food is very good. The staff is friendly and keeps people involved and seems positive all the time. They have something going on every day, musical performance coming in and games. The dining area is nice and clean, they have staff that brings out the meals, and they always have at least four choices for lunch and two or three for dinner.

I toured The Lodge at Mallard's. They showed us around on the different levels and answered our questions. The rooms they showed us were nice and very comfortable looking. The restrooms were large. The area was large for a studio or a one-bedroom. They talked about the activities and showed us the dining area. What stood out was that the place being very quiet and clean. There's not a lot of people out and about at the time of our visit, but the place was well-kept. The individual that showed us around was very knowledgeable. She gave us a quick brief on the activities and rooms. I like that the hallway areas were very spacious and not narrow.

We visited the independent living of Peninsula. The rooms and hallways were spacious. We also saw the dining room and activity room, and the overall area of the community was very clean. They said they offer three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The room has its own amenity like the microwave, but there's no stove or oven. There weren't a lot of people around during our visit. There were a couple of folks sitting in the kitchen area. It's a pretty quiet and very serene location. The interaction that we had with the staff was good.

My grandfather is really liking Peninsula. He just lives in a studio, so it's small but it provides everything that he needs. It's an all-inclusive living, so they have all their meals provided and they have activities going basically all day long. The staff is good and very friendly. It's clean and it's a nice facility.

Peninsula is beautiful, but it doesn't fit my needs. The apartment is too small. I need a stove and a microwave. The staff members are very helpful and very nice. They have a beautiful dining area, but it is not quite what I'm looking for.

Peninsula was nice and neat. However, it was a little small, and the studio rooms were a little tight. They didn't think it was going to work for me, and they acted like they didn't know I was coming.

We looked at many facilities for our dad and this one was by far the best. The staff are truly passionate about what they do and go the extra mile everyday .

We decide to go with Olympic Alzheimer's Residence by Prestige. It was really nice, the staff is really great, and the price is better than the others. It's very pleasant and has a nice common area. They accept Medicaid patients, which is important to us.
