I visited this facility

My mother-in-law will move into Solstice Senior Living at Renton. It seemed to be very nice, the grounds were really nice, it's conveniently located, and they seemed to have everything that she would need. It's close to where we live so that's good. The staff was very nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Solstice Senior Living at Renton is a perfect fit for my brother. The residents were tossing a beanbag into a hole when I visited. They have Wii bowling, pinochle, card games, and they take them to the doctor, the store, and the casino. They have lots of activities. His studio apartment is very clean, and it is laid out in a way that you wouldn't even know his twin bed is in there. They have a good variety of food. They have a library, a craft room, and once a week they have a little store where people can buy a candy bar or pop.

My mother lives in Solstice Senior Living at Renton. It's fairly close to where I live, it's reasonably priced, and they had a special going, so it was very inexpensive. They have really good meals, they change them out regularly, and it's a very beautiful facility. The staff is amazing, friendly, and helpful. It's bright, with lots of good energy, the people are friendly, and I would like to live there myself. My mom has a studio apartment, they have great services, they do house cleaning once a week, they have onsite occupational therapy, physical therapy, onsite hairdressing, and even a salon, so it's perfect for my mom. If you need more things, like medication management, there's a third party that can come in and provide additional help. They have a shuttle to take you to the doctor, on trips, or grocery shopping. I'm so happy to have her there.

I visited this facility

I loved Solstice Senior Living at Renton. I had a room that I had chosen to move into. It was a beautiful 1-bedroom with a slider door out to a patio and a green grassy area. I have a dog so that was going to be wonderful. I had lunch there and everything was very good. The people were very inviting and introduced themselves. The staff was wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about it. The staff member who interviewed me and showed me around were both very upfront with everything they had to offer. They were amazing.

I really loved Solstice Senior Living at Renton. It was very nice and the food was delicious. The facilities was clean as a whistle. Everything was lovely. I highly recommend it. The staff was very kind and they have things going on every day. I almost got tired trying to think of all the things I could participate in. It was very nice. They have a beauty shop, an activity, an exercise room, game room, and a TV room.

I visited this facility

We had lunch with the residents. They had shared rooms, studio rooms, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. They had laundry services, helpers who we can pay by the hour and someone who can give the medicines to my parents. They had a doctor who visits the residents for general care, and transportation to take them to their appointments.

Cost of Assisted Living Comparison Chart

Care Cost Comparison

Costs for senior care vary with the type of care, the number of direct service hours and the location. In Renton, costs for senior care are particularly high because the region has one of the highest government-mandated minimum wage rates in the county and real estate in the area is exceptionally expensive.  Nursing home care in Renton costs nearly double the price of assisted living, while in-home senior care options such as homemaker services and a home health aide also cost more than assisted living. It’s important to factor in daily living costs like utilities, rent and home maintenance when comparing in-home care with residential care since room and board is generally included in the price of residential care for seniors.  Cost of Homemaker/Home Health Aide Comparison Chart

The CN Medicaid program in Washington can help pay the room-and-board portion of assisted living costs.

Low-income seniors who require the type of care normally provided in a nursing home may be eligible for additional care services in an assisted living setting through the Community Options Program Entry System. This Home and Community-Based Medicaid waiver attempts to delay or prevent nursing home placement among seniors in the State of Washington.
