I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We chose Village at the Falls and my dad likes it. There are lots of activities and lots of people there. There are actually a lot of residents there that are out doing things and there are activities available. They provide all three meals, and people come in to do cleaning so his room is really nice. He's really happy there. Based on everything I've seen so far, the staff members are very good workers and do everything. Like if they're in the cafeteria they do the cleaning, and they're pretty nice. The only thing I can think of that needs to improve right now is the food since the food is not that great.

Business Response

Hi Jeff, we are so happy your father loves living here! Having active residents and an engaged staff makes all the difference. Your feedback about food as been shared with our local team.

Village at the Falls was very nice and looks like it had everything that I wanted, but it's a little too expensive for me. The person who toured us was very friendly, outgoing, gave us all the information we wanted, and was very open to answering questions. We had lunch there and the food was very good. They have posters that describe some of the activities that were coming up.

We are moving everything into Village at the Falls. The attention and the help they give you are great. We are hoping that everything works out for us. We have two bedrooms, a nice living room, and a lot of closet space. It is spacious and very nice; the cleanliness is very good. It seems the staff members are very attentive to whatever they say they're going to do. They're right there to help us. Their carpeting is always clean and the maintenance work that they promise all gets done, so it seems the staff is very good. I'm looking forward to signing up for all of the exercises with my husband. There is no swimming pool, but they have a therapy room, a beauty shop, and a chapel. They have pretty much everything we were looking for. It is all family-oriented, and everybody is so much friendlier than other places.

Village at the Falls was very pleasant and the people were very nice. The grounds were nice and the location was good. The rooms were really nice and clean, with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

We came to Village at the Falls during lunch and the lunch was good. The whole place was absolutely spotless. Everything was clean. All the apartments that they showed us were also spotless, clean, modern, and neat. I'd still like to get into a place like that. Everybody was polite and very nice. The lady who took us around told us about the activities. They have a small room for workouts, a hallway for church services, and a small library. She said that they have a number of people that get together to read books.

The Village at the Falls was great. The rooms were adequate. They offered housekeeping and three meals a day, that's included in the rent. The food was great. The staff was very friendly, very professional, very courteous, and willing to help.

I chose Village at the Falls for my mother. I can't say enough about it, they have wonderful people, activities to keep residents involved, and it's always very clean. The menu is terrific and I love it there. She's in a studio apartment, it's basically a hotel room with a fancier kitchen, and they offer everything you need. They don't have RN services onsite, but they can be brought in, and housekeeping comes once a week. She moved in at the end of June.

The one that we liked the most was Village at the Falls, but it was quite expensive and too much for me. It was big but manageable. The staff was absolutely friendly. They had contacted me many times to come back to play piano or come for lunch and activities. The food was very good.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

The Village is very nice. The people are all very friendly and do not want me to move away. Everybody is going to miss me here. I started a writer’s club where twice a month I get people to write their memoirs, and they really enjoy that. They have entertainment. The rooms are nice and spacious. It is an older building, but everything is very nice. My apartment is a two-bedroom and huge. They have cleaning service once a week, and three meals a day; they will bring your meals to your apartment if you are not feeling well.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mother is living at Village at the Falls. Our experience has been good. A few minor things have popped up along the way, but overall, she is very happy with them. They just seem a little disconnected, and that is my only complaint. They are part of the Holiday group, but it does not seem that they are communicating with each other. I am told one thing about the payment by one person, then told a different thing about payment by a second person, and then told a third thing about payment from Holiday. So, they are a little disconnected. However, the place is beautiful, the apartment is great, and the staff is nice and very friendly. They all introduced themselves to us. There is a fitness room, an activity room, and a library. They have a lot of activities, so there is always something to keep you busy. The food is fantastic and way better that my expectation. However, he whole financial system is very unclear because there is a $2,900 deposit for the place, which I worked out a plan to split that into three payments. He gave me a sheet to sign a lease saying that I will pay this amount on this day, and that’s not quite what happens because they do an automatic withdrawal for the rent. So, they never billed for that deposit, and it is very unclear about where, when, or how much the deposit is supposed to be. It is very minor and taken care of, so it is fine.

The rooms at Village at the Falls were good-sized. There was a variety, and some were on the lower level. There was a nice garden in the back and the lunchroom looked nice. I was given a ticket to come back and have lunch with somebody. The staff was very informative, explained things, and answered all my questions. There were some people in the library. There was brand-new carpeting in the several rooms that I saw. It almost looked like a hotel.

While other senior places are a little more high-tech, Village at the Falls is kind of older, and has a homier look to it. But the people are really nice there and I like that it's a small community. There's a church across the street, and the young kids come over to volunteer and sing Christmas carols, and they would have church there. The rooms were nice, but the last tenant just moved out of the room they showed me, so it was kind of dirty-looking. I like the warm community feeling. Another thing I also really like is that they set out donuts, cookies, coffee, and stuff every day 24-hours a day. So whenever residents want coffee they can just come down and have it. The person who gave me the tour was very nice, thorough, and was a really nice guy. He made me feel comfortable during the whole tour and explained things so well.

I liked Village at the Falls best. It didn't have an entry fee, but they also did not have continuous care. The apartments were nice. I got a free lunch and the food was good. The dining area was pleasant and had tables set up for four people. The list of activities looked pretty good. They have a place where you can get a haircut or a permanent. The facility director was very good, informative, and seemed very caring.

I saw Village at Falls. They were very friendly. I was there when they were serving lunch. They showed me a couple of apartments that were very clean and nicely done. The staff was very good. They do housekeeping and have somebody come in and look after you. They take you to different events, go outside of the facility to lunches, and have card games.

Village at the Falls was a little livelier than I thought and had plenty of things to do. They take them to different places and doctors' appointments. They're welcoming. We had lunch there and it was very nice.

I really liked the person from Village at the Falls. She was very pleasant and very nice to talk to. The place was very good, but I think they needed more safety bars in their bathrooms. Their amenities were good, and it would have been a nice place for Mom.

Village at the Falls was nice. They were very friendly, and the apartments were beautiful, just really expensive. They had set up lunch for me and my granddaughter, so we went, and the food was good; my granddaughter liked it. They were very accommodating. But I wasn’t able to see much more than that. It seemed like a lot of people went back to their apartments after lunch, so it was kind of a quiet time, and I really didn’t get to see any of the activities. The dining area was nice. They had white linen tablecloths, there were vases and flowers on the tables, it was clean, and their staff was dressed as if you were going to a nice restaurant. I would have definitely given it a 5, except for the cost.

I Visited This Community

I visited the Village At The Falls for my 92-year-old mother, and on first impression, it was an active senior living. There were lots of happy senior people living there, but I was a little surprised because it was not assisted living, just senior living. You could get assistance in there if you pay for extra services. It just wasn't fitting for what I was looking for, but it was a nice facility.

Village at the Falls is very nice. I liked it. It seems to be setup well. We liked what we saw. We just took a quick tour. It's laid out nicely, it's clean, and neat. People we meet there were very polite. When the time comes, it certainly a spot we would consider.

Village at the Falls was a very dated looking building. It was rundown-ish looking. The staff said the carpeting was being replaced the following week. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but it didn't look good when we were there. They had a very small room for fitness, no equipment in it, just a small room where they would gather. She said they were moving some exercise equipment in there the following week, but I don't know if they will. The activity room was completely shut dark, so I don't know what was going on in there. The tour agent was OK, but kinda too fake and bubbly, too gushy, and mushy, and kind of lovey-dovey. I didn't have a real good vibe. She was nice, it's just that I'm not a little kid. The unit itself was nice. It had a very, very large south exposure, and a full kitchen, but it was dated, and when we walked in there were a lot of 80 to 90-year-old people in wheelchairs just kind of vegetating around. My sister is only 60, and she doesn't fall in a nursing home. Even though this was independent living, it had a very nursing home-ish feeling, and I can't put my sister in something like that. She needs something more upbeat, younger people that do activities, and I just couldn't see that happening at that place. There was a courtyard, but there was nothing out there at this time of the year. I did not see a library or a hairdresser. They might have it, but I didn't see it. They had some extra storage lockers, which other places didn't have. They had a lady that would take you to the grocery store. It was just a very kinda dirty, kinda dated looking place. It's something I don't think would be a good fit at all.

Business Response

Hi Leslie, thank you for taking the time to rate and review our community. We regret to hear that we are not the perfect fit for your sister at this time. Due to protocols put into place to ensure the safety of our residents, our normal activities schedule has changed, however, we continue to offer fun and engaging activities for our residents to enjoy. We hope to get a second chance to show you everything that our community has to offer. Thank you

Village at the Falls was fine, average, but it felt like it was for people older than my parents. The dining room felt a bit like a cafeteria.
