Nestled in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, Merrill Gardens at Lafayette is centrally located near shopping, restaurants, entertainment, outdoor recreation and medical facilities in Contra Costa County. We are proud to offer a range of senior living options from independent and assisted living to memory care for those with Alzheimer's and dementia.
As one of the newest additions to the Merrill Gardens family of communities, Merrill Gardens at Lafayette is dedicated to providing seniors an alternative to traditional retirement housing.
Featured Amenities
With 89 brand-new, pet-friendly apartment homes, residents have their choice of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans that feature fully equipped kitchens, in-home washer/dryer units and emergency call systems. Homes are leased month-to-month, with no buy-in fees, and all utilities (except telephone) are included in the monthly rental fee.
Residents also benefit from convenient underground garage parking, complimentary wireless Internet, welcoming common areas and a well-stocked library. With our signature Anytime Dining program, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on your schedule in our restaurant-style dining room anytime between 7am and 11pm. A private dining room is also available for hosting special celebrations and family events.

We toured Merrill Gardens at Lafayette. It was brand new, very clean, with a very open plan, but a little bit sterile. They have an underground parking garage, which was nice. The units were nice, but a little bit on the small size. The staff member who helped me was alright. He was just filling in for somebody else. He was able to answer some questions but not everything. We didn't observe any activities. They have a small gym, a small theater, a card room, a small library, and a garden space. Merrill Gardens at Lafayette was OK; however, the layout was rather cold and confusing, and that was part of the problem. Also, they need to make sure that the people that show you around are more informed as well.
