In 1924, Salem bought it's first cottage, Palm Tree to meet the needs of older adults throughout the Bay Area. Today, our five acre village-like campus is home to almost 200 residents of all faiths and backgrounds. Salem is proud to be a registered Eden Alternative Community. Based on the core principle that growing older should be a continued stage of development, the Eden Alternative offers our residents opportunities to give meaningful care to other living things.
